Jim.. You're facts aren't really facts.. The fact is this board including the current president have been making decisions for years.
Including voting in the previous president unanimously.. Till they had to make a move on the guy they all thought was a great idea as president for years.
Also their change to the constitution is undemocratic..
Anybody should be allowed to run.. As long as they hold a current membership
Which means I'm out boys.
Robbie.. You and your dad shouldn't both be on.. It's akin to our current bloc faction problem.

Synners that was the entire criteria previously: you had to be a member for 2 years prior to nominating yourself, and you had to fill out a form. They didn't take any of your business history into account, despite it being a legal requirement for businesses today.

Once again, here is the constitution:

Image

So what that says is:

- Be a member for two years prior
- Don't be banned from sitting on a board
- Fill out the nomination form and cooperate with the INC
- Prove any other requirements as determined by the INC (currently none)
- Ensure you'll get the necessary approval to be involved with a business that has liquour and gaming licences

Right now it sounds like you'd fail to be able to nominate because you don't have a membership. That's it.

If you read the current requirements, I'd suggest the INC would merely add on new requirements as legal requirements themselves change. If they tack on something stupid, it'll be kicked off at the next AGM.

What I would like to hear is what people think is an eligibility criterion for nomination that could be added on that would be harmful to a responsible candidate's chances that would also pass as reasonable under current Australia law?

Mashing up the eligibility criteria and the candidate recommendation/endorsement as one in the same is nothing short of sensationalism, especially without having seen either one in use.

I'll catch up .I catch up work Carlton supporters of all kinds.
Not everybody agrees with me.
But I don't mind.
It's a brotherhood and then there's chemistry.. Not in the word sense.
I reckon in my life there's 1 Carlton supporters to 3 people close to me on a daily basis.
Guys I went through high school going to the football with.. University and since then..
A large part of where I've come from is Carlton but it's getting minimized.. My relationships with Carlton people have not.
I have a sense of community with everybody here.
Even people that hate my guts and of course some fantastic mates!

But I can't stand what's been happening to my club because it's what were about and not what they're about that is important to me.
Some of my Carlton mates disagree or have different opinions.. But I know we all care!

In all seriousness I don't want anybody to party for my membership.
It's a personal boycott because I want them to feel being alone.
This is a club

That's how it's always been for me.
But recently it doesn't feel that way.. It feels like the longest funeral ever.
My Carlton mates are still my mates and I'll bug them with My phone calls and whatever.
It's quite a community we have... A community the suits don't understand and can't tap into.
I wouldn't want anybody to pay for my membership. I'll do our when the club deserves it.
Were miles off that time.
Or just needs those in power to understand this club like we do

So other than voting out the board, and marching on Visy park with Bring back Fev/Eddie/Jeff/Sauce/Waitey/Laidlaw banners ....

What would help you to feel more engaged for the second half of the season?

I feel like the Malthouse drama has sucked all the enjoyment out of me.

Here's what I'd like to see:

-WIN against Gold Coast
-WIN against the Dees
-Another win somewhere else
-Be competitive in EVERY game for the rest of the season (along the lines of what Cameron Ling proposed on Friday - minimum standards for contested footy and tackles)
-Gibbs, Murphy, Walker, etc to suck it up and show some leadership
-No more stupid media appearances from MLG or Trigg unless it's to announce our top notch coach selection panel.

-Give games to the youngsters, but only when the team structure can support them to a reasonable degree (ie. don't just drop them in the deep end)

-Some attacking flair (Menzel to light it up)

-Kreuzer to play out at least 5 or 6 games and give us a lift

Then I might feel better.....
