Don't think GC stuffed anything up with their picks just missing to many good players through injury or suspension/discipline.

I predicted that GWS would ultimately be a better side than GC simply because I thought there were better kids coming through that year than GC had. Whether I'm right and whether GC optimized their chances or not (in terms of their list management), who knows. However, the whole idea that Silvagni mustn't be any good because he had it so easy is screwy logic.

Having access to many high picks doesn't guarantee anything.
We stuffed it up
Melbourne stuffed it up
Richmond stuffed it up

Having the right talent identification and player development in place does, as exchibited by GWS, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Sydney, Geelong etc

We didn't stuff it up with our high picks.
Gws haven't proven anything with their galaxy of high picks..
We stuffed it up as a club all over the place.

I'm not sure what you mean by stuffed up our early picks..
Are you saying.
Those players are no good or that the club is stuffed?

And what development system does gws have exactly?

You are just argueing now for the sake of it. Not everybody who follows the club knows the ins and out of what goes on behind the scenes. Recruiting just happens to be one of the more transparent areas that fans can see for themselves. For every player like Gibbs that the Carlton system might have failed, there's someone like Josh Bootsma who was never worth the pick we used on him. You know that as well as I do, it just doesn't suit your anti 'jobs for mates' (for want of a more exact term) rhetoric regarding Silvagni that you want to push.

So, hang on. Let's get this straight. You're saying that development is OK at this (for want of a better word) club? And if we just fixed our recruiting, all would be fine????

This reminds me of a Quote said by our so confident President before the start of the Season " We don't really need a recruiting Manager and don't have to have one. We will work closely with SOS and he will get us where we want ".

Mark my words, SOS will get us no where...because the issue is not about SOS... it's about how this footy club is run and operated!!

Our Club has been bought out by Rich people who's only goal is to make money and profit from the Club at any cost. They could not care the less Whether we Win or lose!! It is no surprise that they got themselves to the Board level via Pure corruption and Bribery.....

and just to be Clear " We do not have any head of Recruitment at the moment. The Board has decided that they do not need One. What a Smart Business decision ". It was even Smarter to appoint someone like Shane Rogers who did nothing but hold the Club to randsom and making threats of leaving if his demands were not met!

I seriousely do want to know who pulled the final trigger in selecting the players we did in last year's draft... Especially Boekhorst!!

for 21 year old mature ready player, he looks nothing more than an average amature footballer! I just can not believe the Club were expecting big things from him... what the hell were they thinking?

In not securing for the sake of it.
Football is about results.
Right now but many clubs have recent results.
There are some hard core clubs that are thereabouts and a bunch of other clubs playing snakes and ladders without being serious contenders
Gws haven shown nothing to be taken seriously.

Yeah, and 2 & 2 still make 2. At least you're not having a go at my grammar, I suppose.

That is probably correct but people aren't successfully arguing that. They are saying that SOS is just another Carlton man and comes straight from a club that had things handed to them on a silver platter. Who's to say that he doesn't have any good ideas in his own right? Whether he's allowed to do anything with them is another matter.

Actually be an interesting exercise. Line them both up next to each and see the results. My guess is they couldn't be any worse.

Carlton's position is the "rich peoples fault". The rich people are their to solve the money issues.
The football people's responsibility is the football department.
You work out where the bulk of the responsibility lies

You obviously just read whatever you liked into my previous post. Where did I say in my post that development is not a problem? It's just that, with Synbad, it's obviously not Kosher to highlight just one problem when the whole club is stuffed. It's as if the parts don't make up the whole. Now that the club is officially deemed to be stuffed, do we still have to run our complaints through a committee chairman, or something?
