For this week I would go:

Jamison in for Henderson (inj)
Watson in for Jones
Menzel in for Gibbs
Casboult in for Warnock

Play Walker as a leading full forward alternating centre half forward.

Forward line is still too top heavy. How to get some added pace and crumbing in there? Needs a good crummer badly. Might have to wait a few more weeks for a candidate to emerge.

Rotations should try to limit the amount of time that all of Wood, Caboult and Watson are on the field at the same time. Otherwise too top heavy.

In the magoos Walsh and Rainbow look to have a bit of pace. Too early for them but I am a bit more optimistic about what could be brewing in that part of the list. It was a big turnover after last season and it is good to see that there is a bit of optimism re: the prospects of several of them.

I would give Carrazzo a game in the twos to find some touch. My guess is that he will be straight back in.

As for dropping a name player I think the club should do it. Mostly players respond well when this happens. Have to do it sometimes.

menzel i dunno about.

he could only manage 8 touches and could play only 3 qtrs in the reggies. i'd be nervous if i'm on the MC about bringing menzel in and someone else gets injured and you can't sub him around 3/4 time.

dropping gibbs, or resting him or sending him off for surgery, or whatever the hell is going on with him is imperative, imo.

casboult in for warnock, jamison for henderson, carrots for gibbs. i guess.

give boekhurst a full game or sub him out, but don't make him the green vest.

The concern about everything that is happening is the development of players like Menzel. In his third year and with his talent I would expect to be doing a bit more. Doesn't find the ball enough. IMO I would leave him in the 2's for a few weeks playing on the ball. Needs to keep building a tank and a good workrate.

i've heard from a few different people he doesn't work hard enough off the track. just looking at him, and imo menzel's body hasn't changed since he was drafted. he definitely hasn't improved his tank or endurance.

i remember people at port use to compare wingaard to menzel ... now we'd kill for menzel to be half the player windgaard is.

I have heard that as well. Told his testing is poor. Why do we keep picking these players that seem to take so long to develop? Is it the recruiting, the development or both? When was the last time we picked a player that stepped straight in and played good footy. Seems to happen a fair bit at other clubs.

Jones is never going to be dropped.. he is MM's Favorite Beast... I wouldn't drop him either... as useless as he is, we have no one to kick goals or Crush packs for us...

I would bring both Watson & Casboult and play them all.....I got the feeling Watson is not one of MM's favorite Sons... he will be removed if MM stays in the Club...

There is no way I would play Jones. What kind of message does it send the guys in vfl who bust their guts and can't get a game whilst Jones is prancing around not working hard enough in the seniors?

Port have a player based fitness emphasis. They have stated on numerous occasions the players made a concerted group effort to be the fittest in the comp - and push themselves to the limit.

Menzel is probably more concerned about going to boutique with Gibbs on Saturday night, than the game on Saturday arvo

cripps is the most recent guy who's shown plenty in just a few games.

he's already in the conversation of being our best mid.

How sad though, was the fact that our oldest mid (Judd) and youngest mid (Cripps) were two that you could say put in last Friday, but in the end, were nothing but bookends of a shit sandwich.

Watch Murphy have another stinker, scared of his own shadow after Robbo lines him up early.
