Drop him Mick... make a statement... I doubt he will even care

Get rid of him now - and whoever signed him to five years - sack them now as well. Anyone know who made that decision?

Probably McKay. Worst Football Manager in the AFL. Seriously NFI. Word is he'll be gone at the end of the year as well.

did you see mckay's face last night after the loss? in the sheds at one point the camera zoomed in on him. talk about a guy who knows he's dead man walking.

i'd bet all of my money, which isn't much, that he's gone at the end of the year.

it's going to be some kind of cleanout. which is exciting in itself.

and not before time!!!

does anybody know if anyone on the board from the Pres down reads TC??

yeah ... i'm just not sure gibbs is a fulltime mid. too much jogging, doesn't put his head over it, not enough involvement.

i'd throw him forward. good mark, usually a good kick and on a team crying out for someone to start kicking goals, he can't do any worse.

Actually a better idea would be to send him to the backline again. Having to play on someone will mean that he can't wander around doing what he likes. He is forced to be accountable. Easy.

Yea lets trade him ... who knows we might just pick up another Liam Jones.

I can't believe how you guys get sucked in. I noticed Loyd (with a big smirk on his face) pushing hard for Carlton to trade away all our best players ... If thats the mentality we will be stuck at the bottom a very long long long time. Just plain dumb ... the media laughs, the opposition laughs and indeed we are quite laughable ... Richmondesque.

Viva the Madhouse.

Gibbs has been a disappointment under Pagan, Ratten and the sparingly used pseudonym, Madhouse.

I'd trade him without batting an eyelid...And if he plays well at his new home (let's say Adel or PA, its because he has better players/structures around him)...cause he won't get out of 2nd gear here at Carlton to inspire or lift the side.

Weak as butter and abject disaster of a pick #1

At 27, should be in the prime of his career. I'd take an injury to him 1000 times over an injury to a 10 game player in Cripps.

In fact, a poll by CFC supporters I reckon would back me up on that.

Gibbs going nowhere.
Just get a coach who can get the players to buy in. Simple.

Nathan Jones bled for Melb despite his coaches. All players should have intrinsic motivation as their starting point

Gibbs will not change

Like others have said, a couple of weeks in the ressies. Then see what he's made of, character wise

Bring him back to the seniors via the green vest

Would any side give us a top 10 pick for him?

We need to engineer another pick in the top 10, just as Collingwood did last year.

If gibbs hits form by july and plays out the last month solidly, it'd raise his stock to top 12 pick status, imo.

Well and truly out best player last year ... not playing brilliant this year ... but a hell of a lot better than most. I can still see Loyd's grin. We have certainly become the laughing stock of the league.

Viva the Madhouse!

If Malthouse is fair dinkum about setting standards at this club Bryce Gibbs can not play this week.
I watched him closely on Friday night, he is one of the weakest players i have ever seen play.
Doesnt want to run hard, he just jogs. Was so frustrating, you see blokes like Armfield, Buckley and Docherty busting their a$$ trying so hard and this bloke just jogging around like a hero

has all the talent in the world, doesn't have the work ethic required. on that basis alone he needs to be traded

Trade is end of year stuff.

Drop him now to the VFL for a game or two to see what the real world is like. Then bring him back slowly as the sub.

If he has any character it will come out.

Drop him to the 2nds and leave him there until traded.

He has absolutely no value whatsoever on field, who only lifts his game towards seasons end to secure his pay cheque. Once secured, he returns to his lazy half arsed attitude, as he's demonstrated this year.

It is no coincidence that Gibbs best season to date just happened to coincide with his contract negotiations - funny that ...

He is a poison to the playing group, a bad example to our youth, and for a so called leader, he's an embarrassment to the jumper.

The worst number 1 draft pick in living memory. A complete fail on every count. At 27 years of age, with 9 seasons behind him, he should be playing the best football of his career.

After football he should seriously think about a career in politics, because he can bullshit his way through anything.

Gibbs is probably sick and tired of playing in a team of duds, it would be demoralising, week after week playing with idiots, if he moves to a better team he will dominate, if I was Gibbs I would be actively trying to get out of Carlton.

Carlton need Gibbs more than Gibbs needs Carlton. Make no mistake we will face a player exodus shortly.

Send him off for the operation. Season done. Wont lose value.

Reassess whether tp trade or not at the end of the season with a new coach.

An op wouldn't put him out for more than 2 months.

You think?

More than just the shoulder bothering him . Why did he miss half the preseason before the shoulder injury?

Actually the should fix would put him out for a long time.

Surely he wouldn't need anything more than a clean out or a minor ligament fix?

Unsure why he was held out prior, I can't recall if he had any issues at the time.

Small point and makes no difference to the argument - just turned 26
