No Hendo or Yarran? Kreuz & Dale underdone.

Blues will lose this.

Thomas isn't slated to return until round 8.

Henderson will probably come up, Kreuzer will probably play VFL.

We need to take some structural hits to regenerate what we can get out of the side to a man.

Out: Jones, Ellard, Warnock

In: Menzel, Dick/DVR, Jamison

Have Everitt, Cripps and Gibbs conspire to take over the stoppages the second ruckman would take. Have Wood take every centre bounce, then push forward to rest as needed. If he's on the bench, send Rowe to the centre bounce, and Henderson into defence to take his defensive job.

Jaksch to the forward line if match-ups allow, try to avoid having him in a 1v1 wrestle if possible.

Menzel to provide a spark up forward in lieu of Ellard & Jones; throw Walker, Simpson and Buckley into the forward mix, and have Dick or DVR step into a defensive runner role to free them up.

Murphy, Gibbs & Judd to take turns resting forward to maximise their time on the field and thus maximise the number of minute we have good decision makers out there and winning the football with more space and time to execute.

This requires some guts from the coaches and the MC in terms of selection; they're not going to get a great ruck contest 30% of the time, but I think the run and increased capacity to execute and score will outweigh our contested work at CHF and at the odd stoppage.

sorry jimmae
with hendo nursing a hammy, cas out and jones (the competitive beast) not yet caught up in mickys game plan we need our new go to man (KP)
the positive is at least he leads to the right positions and takes the space for the other KPP doesn't matter he can't make and he's 2 foot tall

That's the conundrum; upside versus effort.

Coin flip for Ellard and Walker.

there is no conundrum

he's not AFL level, easy as that

It's thoughts like this that drive me mad, Ellard is a spud and should have been delisted years ago. No matter how hard he tries he's no good and should never play a senior game again, same goes for Army, Curnow, Jones, Warnock, Wood (when or if Krueze comes back). Players like Rowe, Bell, Buckley play until something better comes along. The senior players need a good kick up the ass but I can imagine they look at our forward line and team structure and are mentally defeated before the ball is even bounced.

Same here, I'm not so sure that it actually doesn't help contribute to the (sub)mediocrity. A bunch of Blue-bloods who think we can't afford to be anything other than blue-collar. It's an insipid mix.

Sorry...robbed buying a membership...won't be going..

jimmae...are you mad, playing Walker forward as a mobile forward and target...MADNESS

I expect Watson in...drop Elllard or Whiley or both ...need more height and more taggers....

Any possession we get ...kick it straight up in the air...our taggers hold their players while our talls mark everything...it's genius!

If we truly believe our window is 4-5 years away then anyone over 25 is there to help develop those 22 yo or under.

Spotlight is now on those 22-25. We need to weed them out, they are the leaders of our next premiership window.

The guys below must get serious game time now

Our list 25y or under

C Sheehan 24yr 5mth 19 Nov 1990
C Yarran 24yr 4mth 19 Dec 1990
L Jones 24yr 2mth 24 Feb 1991
J Tutt 23yr 11mth 15 May 1991
T Bell 23yr 10mth 13 Jun 1991
F Russell 22yr 10mth 6 Jun 1992
M Watson 22yr 9mth 16 Jul 1992
M Whiley 22yr 5mth 1 Dec 1992
T Fields 22yr 4mth 19 Dec 1992
D Buckley 22yr 1mth 16 Mar 1993

Watson must play... be told he has 6 consecutive games minimum with another 3 or so if he meets certain KPI's

FFS, Jones has had 5 consecutive games

Stop being such a f$%^&ing hard headed pr1ck Mick and give him a game. I don't care whether his form warrants it. Gibbs' form doesn't warrant him being in the side...BUT HE IS

Sometimes, you've got to throw caution to the wind

FFS Mick...just listen to me....PLEASE!!.....I'm losing it

A lovely place to be hey?

Bucks. Jaksch. Docherty.
Tuohy. Rowe. Curnow.
Graham. Cripps. Everitt.
Bell. Casboult. Menzel.
Jones. Watson. Armfield.
Wood. Judd. Simmo.
Whiley. Murph. Boekhorst. Sub:Gibbs

Casboult even though isn't kicking well he marks more around ground than the other talls and his field kicking isn't atrocious.
walks unlucky as plenty of experienced blokes need to be dropped but he's 30 plus.
Simmo had a shocker also but you can see he bleeds blue. Chuck him in the guts to set an example.
Jones to play the third tall not Key possie.
Lions lack fwd talls so Jaksch should get an inexperienced kid like himself.
