For those who were at the game last night.

As early as the warm up I commented to the bloke next to me that the whole side looked switched OFF.

They were spraying kicks, mishandling easy balls ang generally looking like a country football side. Green was out there with Barker and Laidley. I had the binoculars on them and at no stage did I see any body language from any of the coaches to PULL YOUR FINGER OUT.

I just wish someone would stand up and kick some arses

Sorry that's bullshit.

If you throw it in because things aren't going your way or others do then piss off and go to another club. That is not the culture or players we need.

I don't give a shit about if they agree with things or aren't inspired.

He is playing professional sport and should have some self respect. The excuses made for this kid are ridiculous. He needs to be dropped and if it doesn't sink in traded.

Note to Carlton players

If you want to embarrass your coach you can do that 24x7 in your own time

If you want to embarrass yourselves well you found the right stage last night

Faak'in disgusting

Like every other coach ... ultimately the buck stops with the Madhouse ... and the people who foolishly appointed and supported that appointment.

The chickens have come home to roost.

Viva the Madhouse!

That has nothing to do with a player's effort.

That is personal responsibility. These player's need to take responsibility for their actions, their effort, their commitment.

That is an individual's responsibility. Whether or not the game plan is right or the right moves are made is not what I am talking about.

Player's need to take responsibility for their actions, they are grown men for crying out loud, not preschoolers. Too many excuses for this insipid bunch.

It is a madhouse and the coach is just another symptom of the madness.

He loves the Blues. The song is one of first sounds he heard. I sang it to him in the delivery suite when the midwives took my wife to the bathroom. He stopped crying. We still sing it every night at bed time. When my wife was in hospital interstate for treatment, and we were both away for weeks at a time, he taught it to his grandfather (a league man) and made him sing it at bedtime instead.

This year is the first year that he has actually watched football. So he doesn’t really know the Blues of course, and is as interested in the fixture on my smartphone as he is in the game. He just loves them because I do. But he doesn’t understand why we keep losing when we are team that never lets you down.

He started Auskick last week. His club are the Giants. The Giants are second, he gets that much. He likes the Bulldogs too because their mascot looks fierce and such details are important to five year olds.

I know how this story ends because it is the story of why my father supports Collingwood and I do not. We are losing the next generation, like we lost the one before that. That’s not the tragedy though. The tragedy is, I’m not sure I can remember why I would want him to stay. He has been let down enough.

What a moving post.

My family just had a read of this. We wondered if it was the Drummoyne Giants you were referring to.

It gives us an insight what footy means to people. The good and the bad of footy...and what Carltonians are feeling regardless of heir age. Cutting pain.

I, like many Bluebaggers are blessed to have grown up with the Blues since 68. I got my kids connected to the Blues. I feel responsible for their disappointment and the tears they shed. Sadly, they will never experience the golden era I did. Carlton though is a great connection between me and my boys.

Lucky my kids are welded on and now understand the game has highs and lows. I did tell them the low period is just over and this is the year of our reincarnation. My kids are 7 and 11. I don't know how you can explain the lows to your 5 yo let alone patience. I'm sure they know failure when they see it.

I can see how Carlton has lost a generation of supporters and am afraid they are on their way to lose the next without a doubt.

All the best night crawler.

So we've got a coach playing for wins and fielding guys like Warnock, Carrazzo, Ellard, Curnow etc. ahead of younger players.

And meanwhile we've got a board saying we're rebuilding.

That sounds ideal.

If we played with one player short would anyone think we'd win?

If we played with TWO players short, would everyone assume we'd get flogged?

Well the players felt the same way.

The quote from Leigh Matthews is spot on....but add this... Parkin on the radio (yes I was at the game unfortunately...or fortunately as I didn't see Eddelston...I would've had a stroke) was asked if he can see what the system was that we were trying to implement. His answer "(silence)...no (in almost a whisper) " then more silence.

...at the start of the game I was bagging the setup with Warnock in and Wood up forward saying it was the west coast game all over again. I said watch the runners run it out and kill us on the spread ...guy in front of me started picking a fight with me saying what was I bagging the team for ...who do I support etc...told him I love to coach and will say whatever I like...
Then some spud (oxley) gets 50 DT points in the FIRST quarter, marks, run and kicks .... Guy was gone by the end, spent the rest of the night at the bar...I assume...came back at 3/4 time to get his bag...and leave I assume.

WTF...not making excuses for the players, but IF I CAN SEE WAHT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN THE FIRST 5 Minutes...no wonder the players just drop their heads after Collingwood started running off them...and remember...they always had two extra players

That is a very sad story, football should be a release and some enjoyment for the little fella from what he (and you) have been through

Carlton right now dont deserve your devotion and watching them offers very little enjoyment.

I dont know how we keep the kids supporting Carlton and right now i'm not sure why we should either.

My 8 year old daughter (who got fed up with carlton after 1 qtr last night) was excited with the bulldogs finish against the swans - 'gee dad the bulldogs won again, that was close - i like them, they tried really hard just then didn't they?'

what hope do we have when our players dish up such garbage?

Just on that Grrof ....... I was wondering to myself when was the last time that we had a win like the Bulldogs today? Playing against a No1 or No 2 team on their patch in conditions that suited them. Can't remember.

I watched our Smurph for 10minutes. Pies were just letting him wander around aimlessly without a man, and he couldn't touch the ball. He played ok against the lowly Saints, but against good opposition he was useless. Pies also don't mind Judd getting it these day has he doesn't really hurt sides anymore.

Gibbs was useless, and can't believe we wee dumb enough to give him a 4 year deal :screwy:
