Some odd coaching/game plans last night. In defence after a mark we would run at the man on the mark and try to give off a handball at the last moment. With seemingly no thought that the man on the mark might actually apply pressure. Whose brainwave was that?? Our defensive coach - that bright spark from Hawthorn who just want to grab media moments all the time.

I want Mick to go just as much to get rid of the assistant coaches.

They were running a misdirect play Pickle, to nullify Blair and Varcoe, but they were doing it too much.

I DON'T BLAME THE MADHOUSE.

Though his coaching techniques are old fashioned and just don't work in the modern game.
Though the players are clearly not on board.
Though we have dramatically lost so much ground since we had claimed so much after years at the bottom under Pagan.
Though other teams have thrived and moved forward under fresh forward thing coaches.
Though he has had 2 years to improve a side that he thought there was so much promise.
Though he has not been able to hold on to or help key footballers at the club.

NO ... I DON'T BLAME THE MADHOUSE and neither should anyone else.

I blame all of those who supported and caused the appointment of the Madhouse. It was always a dumb decision ... it was Richmondesque experiment ... and its put the club back another 7 years.

Thank you one and all.

Leigh Matthews nailed it.

Deep down the players don't believe in the messages from above (coaches/FD/board) and subconsciously aren't mentally in the game.

First time I've ever left a game at half time, even through the dark days of 02-07 I never left early, styed to the end.... Can't believe we're back there again. Playing Warnock and Wood just shows MM is past it. He's depleted our forward line and our list. Please resign tonight!!

Lots of people around me left at half time too.
I waited until early in the last, not something I usually do.
Insipid and embarrassing.

In essence game style and tactics, coaching tenure and list management going forward.

Methinks names like Voss and Ratten will start popping up in possible 'new' coaches.

We are so [REDACTED] it's not funny/

A Carlton supporter sitting next to me on the train home claims he has inside knowledge and told me that Ratten would come back and coach. He also said that Dangerfiled would come to Carlton next year and we are chasing Hawkins. I call BS by the way.

One of the worst games I've seen since the pagan days. God that was terrible..

It was that bad my brother and I last night were making jokes and literally laughing at how bad we were. Seriously, we were in stiches. It's gone beyond frustration, pain and utter disappointment.

It was laughable and horrendous, insipid and unacceptable...

Case in point, Bryce Gibbs pulls probably the best season I've seen him play, which just so happened to coincide with his contract negotiations.

He secures himself a nice lucrative deal ...

Did anyone watch him last night?

This is paramount to cancer in the club bodily.

And like cancer, it spreads.
...

Just spoke about the same thing this morning.

His B&F last year is an indictment on the club. Other than Judd's B&F's wins the rest have been a joke.

Jibb's 2014 B&F win reminds me of the Teagues's/McKernan's/Carazzo's B&F's. He played at what I expect to be his absolute minimum level in 2014. All his other years have been so so. And what does he get in return? A 5 year contract at $600k a year. What a F***** joke.

In fairness Rod he was pretty good last year and showed a lot more than at any other time, but you wonder what goes on in his head when he can be so ordinary as he was last night. He has great talent but has an eye to self preservation too often. He is a good player, but we need him to be great. Instead of building on last season he has gone backwards. Still he must be carrying a shoulder injury to be as bad as he currently is.

He doesn't run and chase on his shoulder.

This kid gets more chances than he deserves.

I can cop a lack of depth, I can cop a lack of talent, I can cop being beaten by a better side.
But I will not cop the total lack of effort shown last night, get out of jail cards to Rowe, Cripps, Whiley & Bockhurst, the rest should quit the club now and find another career (one that doesn't involve effort).
If Mick is fair dinkum about no gifted games, then a few senior blokes should be playing seconds next week, Bryce Gibbs looking at you for starters.
Bloody spineless performance

yep, we were too.
it's good to feel some detatchment.
but then i think how our club has been stolen from us
and all I want is for us to get organised and vote a new board in.
if those on the board had any decency they'd all step down in shame.
shame on you all!!!!
you've trashed our club and used it as your plaything.
SHAME!!!!!!!!

Who's funking great idea was it to play the 7 foot tall witches hat over casboult, at least with casboult we would get some marking around the ground and possibly a greater goal output, Warnock telegraphed his palmdowns last night and Collingwood either roved to them or smashed the bloke they were hit to, not to mention the fact that we got nothing out of him around the ground, he is so slow he couldn't catch a bloody cold,he is way past the perseverance stage, ressies for the rest of the year and then bye bye.

Everyone at Carlton plays that way ... finally Gibbs is doing the same thing. The problem is much biggrr than individuals ... the fish rots from the head.

How could Jones get a game ahead of Levi. Outrageous.

For those who were at the game last night.

As early as the warm up I commented to the bloke next to me that the whole side looked switched OFF.

They were spraying kicks, mishandling easy balls ang generally looking like a country football side. Green was out there with Barker and Laidley. I had the binoculars on them and at no stage did I see any body language from any of the coaches to PULL YOUR FINGER OUT.

I just wish someone would stand up and kick some arses
