Coin flip for Ellard and Walker.

@#$%&! upside. Nobody gets a game without 100% effort, it's non-negotiable.

it's a 3-team race for the spoon. Lions, Saints and us.

this particular match will set the game of AFL back 15 years.

The problem is that we will beat Brisbane and things will settle down again. Time to make the tough decisions.

Not so sure about that. I'm tipping the Lions.

Personally, I want each player to give 100%, and the team to thrash the opposition.

Just like I wish for every game.

It's thoughts like this that drive me mad, Ellard is a spud and should have been delisted years ago. No matter how hard he tries he's no good and should never play a senior game again, same goes for Army, Curnow, Jones, Warnock, Wood (when or if Krueze comes back). Players like Rowe, Bell, Buckley play until something better comes along. The senior players need a good kick up the ass but I can imagine they look at our forward line and team structure and are mentally defeated before the ball is even bounced.

Walker was on the field 89% of the game, so I don't think physical effort was the problem last night.

Tipping the pretenders and frauds to win by 25+, just like against the saints.

Still downhill skiers and still soft as butter - it's been that way for years. Even when we were making the finals a couple of years back, everyone was calling us flat track bullies.

Now that Judd can't carry us all of the pretenders are exposed.

Blues to win, then the next time we play even a half decent team, lose by near 100pts.

They are weak, they are frauds. I hate what this club has become but most of all I hate this group of players and our 'leaders'

Ellard having a dip? Hardly noticed him, what did he do? That's the problem, nice guys get games under Malti.

I hate nice guys on the field, I hate typos honest shit triers.

To bit a shit player. You need a little of something special. Armfield I is good example, quick, can kick goals and tackles. That's something.

Ellard falling to the ground, trying to get the ball, does not equate to contributing to the team.

Geez..

I don't have the metres covered stats, and I don't think they'd get freely released to the public, but I don't recall too many situations where he was standing around with his hands on his hips, or where he was near the goal line at either end of the ground.

He would have done a fair amount of running last night.

Time to play kids for the future. I'd prefer to lose when developing kids as opposed to just recycling average players.

I agree but what other choice do we have? At least he can take a grab around the ground and give us possession. I am sick of Jones' "hail marys". Hendo played injured. I'd give Watson a go. Who are the other talls?

That's not to say that we shouldn't trade/delist Casboult/Watson at year's end. It is just that they are both better than Jones. Can we trade Jones back to the Bulldogs?

I know I've said it before and been criticised for it but I want to see us start playing a line up like this:

B: Buckley Jamison Jaksch
HB: Docherty Henderson DVR

Settle the backline with our best defenders. Henderson is a defender and possibly Everitt for Jaksch or Giles when fit. Sheehan, Byrne, Yarran, Smith are other options over the next few weeks.

Foll: Kruezer Judd Graham
C: Boekhurst Cripps Gibbs

Kruezer when back other wise Wood. Only play one ruckman. Others to bring through are Simpson, Murphy, Whiley, Menzel, Walsh, Tuohy (on ball)

HF: Menzel Watson Bell
F: Smith Foster Walker

Not much of a tall option but Casboult, Jones aren't up to it. Walker needs to play up forward. White is an option when fit. He does give a contest.

Menzel, Bell, Smith are genuine goal kickers who can run on ball as well. Thomas as well.

It's a thin list and results will be poor but we need to really start looking to future and to be honest we couldn't get a lot worse.

I understand the philosophy behind that line up, but I think that forward line is too slow, and that midfield isn't far behind despite Boekhorst's speed.

Here's what I'd like to see next week, assuming all players are fit:

FB: DVR Jamison Tuohy
HB: Docherty Rowe Simpson
CC: Gibbs Murphy Boekhorst
HF: Buckley Everitt Bell
FF: Armfield Henderson Menzel

RR: Wood Cripps Judd

Int: Curnow Jaksch Whiley (Walker)

I'm not, I'm trying to find the worst performances (whether it be due to effort, talent, morale, structure, injury, etc) and ask how the team would perform without them.

What if Walker played in Ellard's role?

Last year we were beating teams, or competing against some of the best without winning (Hawthorn, Geelong, Fremantle for example), yet were putrid against GWS, Melbourne and BRISBANE.
We are going backwards this year and I cannot see repeats on the former teams. Yet if we do not win games against this mob and all we are in real deep strife for the spoon. I hope we win, because our competition this year are the ones battling it out to avoid the spoon. Brisbane are one.

You sound like Malthouse. I'm not worried about results, for me it's about development and seeing who on our list is worth keeping. IMO results are meaningless at the moment.

Given our list no matter what side we pick it will have glaring weaknesses.

I just thought we were rebuilding?
