what the players are doing right now is theft and vandalism. they are stealing money. outright. to be paid for that continued gutless tripe is criminal activity.
I lost count of the amount of contests we backed out of last night V collingwood. we avoided the contest, steered well clear of or deadset squibbed in the face of a collingwood player. we jogged, while they ran, we went to ground and gave up while they chased and tackled. 81 tackles to them, 49 to us. they had 140 more uncontested possessions.
the fundamental errors, handballing behind players, kicking over their heads, at their feet – from 20 metres away! not tackling, not talking, not helping their mate with a shepherd or simply telling them they're hot. the hurried, headless chook, round the body disposal, just hocking it 50 metres in the air and 15 metres forward out of blind, unmitigated panic. that is vandalism. they are defacing our jumper and everything it stands – well stood – for.
it's well past embarrassing, it's now criminal what they're doing.
the club culture and playing for the jumper, those days ended the day we drafted 3 potatoes with our back-to-back number one picks, after purposely tanking to get them. One's, perpetually injured, the other two softer than baby custard. somewhere in those draft picks and tanking, a disconnect happened where the players lost everything about what playing for Carlton is about.
and now onto our third coach since our tanking, that culture still exists and runs far deeper than at anytime before it.
... but, the players only play this half-hearted, gutless way, because they're allowed to. It's tolerated. it's now ingrained into the club so deep, we need major invasive surgery to remove it.
that botox'd Dr. idiot with all the money sitting in our coaches box, doing what exactly? We are corrupt and always have been. but, now we're a league wide laughing stock. I heard Ratten was at a restaurant last night with a group of people. Ratten was laughing like a maniac at the TV every time cfc embarrassed itself – which was often, and that was just until halftime when he left.
this is the lowest point i can remember since 1979, when i went to my first game at princess park.

Carlton as a club, what do we need to do to turn this around?
I suggest it starts at the top. once and for all, piss off all the rich benefactors who prop up the club financially. they have single-handedly turned the club into a rich man's play thing.
I would rather go tits up and sink, never to exist again... then to exist like this. Those loathsome bastards allowed to buy their way into our club – mouth off at will, buy their way into coaching boxes, have a say in footballing dept. decisions like which coach to hire – without due process etc etc. All of that needs to stop, because until it does, we will always be this way.
Start by dismissing all of them. They are taking us under faster than we can tread water.
Once free from their burden, we can conduct internal reviews and audits. trade or delist every single leech on this team, and even if we're coming dead last for the next 2-3 seasons while we rebuild, at least we're rebuilding the right way. from ground zero.
Great post. Agree wholeheartedly.
