We need to take some structural hits to regenerate what we can get out of the side to a man.

Out: Jones, Ellard, Warnock

In: Menzel, Dick/DVR, Jamison

Have Everitt, Cripps and Gibbs conspire to take over the stoppages the second ruckman would take. Have Wood take every centre bounce, then push forward to rest as needed. If he's on the bench, send Rowe to the centre bounce, and Henderson into defence to take his defensive job.

Jaksch to the forward line if match-ups allow, try to avoid having him in a 1v1 wrestle if possible.

Menzel to provide a spark up forward in lieu of Ellard & Jones; throw Walker, Simpson and Buckley into the forward mix, and have Dick or DVR step into a defensive runner role to free them up.

Murphy, Gibbs & Judd to take turns resting forward to maximise their time on the field and thus maximise the number of minute we have good decision makers out there and winning the football with more space and time to execute.

This requires some guts from the coaches and the MC in terms of selection; they're not going to get a great ruck contest 30% of the time, but I think the run and increased capacity to execute and score will outweigh our contested work at CHF and at the odd stoppage.

Toss up between him and Walker, basically comes down to foot speed and upside over the next 4 weeks. Would be the prime candidate for the sub role; he's doing his pre-season right now.

Like him or hate him, ellard was one of only 3 players to have a serious dip tonight. Plays with heart. Must continue to be picked whilst that's the case. Set the standard

Casboult must play. We need his marking around the ground. He can be the relieving ruckman. If he marks within 60m of goal he should handpass it off every time. We need to try Jaksch forward. Walker should play forward too to add some class down there. We need to find someone who can kick some goals.

Gibbs and Jones need to learn that effort is required to play in the seniors.

Shows how bad we are when people believe we need Casboult back. He like many others simply aren't up to it.

Time to play kids for the future. I'd prefer to lose when developing kids as opposed to just recycling average players.
