I reckon this is very much on the cards. In which case, Rowe suddenly becomes really important. If he can't control Cloke, we'll need to move Jaksch or Hendo onto Cloke - which we do not want.

Speaking of Hendo, is he still under a cloud too....?

Great glimpse into the future.

Sheesh ain't that the truth. But am worried about Rowe Your Boat as the back up ruck
So maybe Levi will play.

Magoos.

strange, hey? i woulda thought he's in our best 22, and easily our best forward.

Yeah he is, and they played him all last year and even when he was injured. Reckon he'll get about half a game with Northern and then back next week. Too valuable to risk him.

No strapping on it on Monday at training so he seems ready to play.

Its a well selected side. Plenty of youth for the future. If Menzel hasnt played for 3 weeks that would vindicate his non selection

If Boekhorst is sub we'll be desperate for run for 3/4, then he'll finally be subbed on when the game is already lost. Count on it.

Also Casboult out is pure idiocy, and will cause our whole structure to crumble. Will also mean Jones gets a better defender, lessening his already minimal output.

I agree. He was hardly killing it before he got injured. We need him to build some fitness and form.

I also agree. Get him hungry. Clearly in our best team but good to make him earn it.

Magpies line up looks pretty good. They would have to have a huge form reversal to lose this one. Forward line looks too good and their backline is in very very good form.

Both teams about equivalent strength in that NAB game we won, and there was nothing I saw which made me fear the Pies too much come Rd5.

The boys will be quietly confident, it'll go to the wire.

the whole structure without casboult worries me we're capable of kicking a winning score.

jones and henderson get better defenders. jones will go invisible and without casboult marking and creating contests, the ball seems to rebound out of our front 50 too easily.

we'll see, but i gots a bad feeling.

Hope so. Are we looking for more run and to become more mobile?

Not having Casboult & not playing Menzel gives us a lot of flexibility. Maybe Jones will spend some time in Ruck ala Leigh Brown. He is not a key forward but as a third tall/ruck back up who knows. At least we are trying things and giving some kids a go.

I hope Menzel plays in the 2's for a while and spends time on the ball. Needs the experience.

IMO Casboult isn't up to it. Good mark but that's it. Not enough to be a good league footballer. I like the side, gives us something to look forward to.

B: Buckley Rowe Jamison
HB: Tuohy Everitt Docherty

Foll: Wood Judd Murphy
C: Boekhurst Cripps Simpson

HF: Bell Jaksch Walker
F: Gibbs Henderson Jones

Int: Whiley Armfield Curnow (Ellard)

I hope Whiley doesn't tag. He is a very good talented inside mid. He just needs some game time. I am looking forwrad to he & Cripps playing together and winning the inside ball.

In the next few weeks we can add Menzel, Sheehan, Byrne, Kruezer, Yarran, Smith, DVR, Thomas and it's a base we can build on.

Mick did play Walker forward when we played Collingwood in 2013. Tex spent time up forward v Essendon* 2 weeks ago too.

With Tuohy coming back to form, it helps move Tex higher up the ground.

However, the fact there is 2 talls (Levi & Warnock) named as emergencies makes me think there may be a late change. Usually there's only 1 isn't there?

Walker played well down back last week so I think he'll stay there.

He started lining up on the wing at a few centre bounces

Got a feeling Warnock could be the late inclusion, could be a positive move giving us better structure and team flexibility, has been playing well in the Northen Blues.
I think he would rally for the big game and do his part.
We'd be competitive in the ruck and give our mids the edge. Leaving us Wood as a tall option in the goal square too.
We'll win , I'm expecting a huge game from Judd , Murphy Gibbs and Walker, and the kids will play well hopefully there buzzing from now. It's an immense stage, should be a ripping game.
Go Baggers.
