Curnow? Which A grader was he tagging that warrants a vote? Give a scragging tagger a vote for drawing even with Ablett, but for [insert name of B grade mid]?

Really?

So lets give no brownlow votes when sides play those on the bottom of the ladder.

Logic

Play on shit players get no vote

Play shit sides give no votes?

Are you for real?

Who did he beat? What influence was there on the game? Was he in our top 10?

You are given votes for how you play the game not necessarily on who you beat

16 disposals
11 contested possessions
3 centre clearances.... best for cfc
3 stoppage clearances
10 tackles

grab your mobile phone and ring someone who cares about whether you think he is worthy or not

Jack Stevens got a couple shots at goal.

Stevens got a few shepherds in too 1%ers.

The quality of Curnows disposals were questionable.

Cripps on the other hand stole contested balls from opponents, weighed up options and was effective enough to find targets.

I thought a lot of Curnows disposals were over the head, to say optimistic and led to another contest or turnover.

What's his turnovers and his disposal efficiency? That should answer a few questions.

I watched the game a few times looking at the value of Curnow and Carrazzo.
I loved Curnow last year, but this year I feel he's off the boil.

Carrazzo doesn't create, plays hot potatoe and kicks the long lob hoping for something good. At this stage of his career with his experience I expect more. I feel the game has passed him.

Maybe he's doing what the coach wants. He didn't get coaches votes for nothing.

I'm looking forward to see what the young Whiley has to offer the midfield. I'm convinced Cripps has a more positive effect that both Curnow and Carrazzo, and I'd bet Whiley will too.

That's higher than I thought. I'm going to watch the game again to see for myself.
So 16 disposals an 10 were effective. I'm surprised.

I love curnows endeavour and commitment to his fitness, and the training standards he sets, but I also think he's a big part of our negative footy, within the 'gang' of taggers.

Yep Bondi that's off the stats website.

We need to also remember that because of the role he plays most of his disposals are under pressure. Having said that I'm a bit with you in that I wonder who decides whether its effective or not

I'm ok with one tagger in the midfield. Perhaps a defensive HF.

I just want to know who is the most 'effective' tagger.
I'm questioning if it is Curnow. It certainly isn't Carrazzo Imo; he's depth nowadays ...Imo.

I think MM likes him because he's. VC, he has been around a long time, and is eloquent with a mike in his face. Good strong body but Imo the Game has gone past him. I'm not as sentimental given where my club has been the last 3 years.

Carrazzo was on him till he went off with that ankle injury, I think. Curnow went on to him after. Barely sighted afterwards.

If rather have players our opponents need to tag rather than the other way which we have today.

Get Sheil.
Get Treloar
Get a quality KPF from....whoever.

I would've thought the two coaches gave Murph and Cripps 5 and 3 votes whilst Ding Dong and Henderson got a 4 each

Based on the way MM spoke at the press conference I think he gave Murphy 5 and Cripps 4. The rest flows from that assessment.

but we must consider the opposition.. their body size and the ground size.

look i'm the first to bag players but he's getting better and better. he is moving much better. he doesn't look anywhere near as slow. his hands are unbelievable. he's going to be a terrific terrific mid field extractor for a long time and his rate of improvement in his run this year shows there is probably more to come.

you can't expect any more from a kid this early in his career. there should be no buts. its not his first good game. he's regularly getting his hands on it.

Totally agree. This kid will be Carlton's next captain. He will be grabbing games by the scruff of the neck sooner than you think.
