We can win this.

Pies will be busy and in a frenzy running all over the place.

We have to get the nut and keep it.

We were much better when we attacked and moved the ball forward against the Saints....not the handball back and again and again and swarmed by opposition who cause the turnover.

C'mon Madhouse ... no more bombing ... no more stop start ... and we might even get somewhere this year. Want to see The Extractor in action again.

Thanks jimmae.

Sad about Byrno. He did so well in just one qtr and a bit.

Ok. I'd have Whiley in against this band of frenzied on ballers we are up against this week.

He will match up well against them.

Ruck: Wood- Casboult
Inside mids: Cripps Whiley Gibbs Bell
Outside mids: Judd Murphy Simpson
Taggers: Whiley can tag. Or Curnow if need be.

Friday night game.
Everyone watchimg, including potential journeymen who aren't considering Carlton.

Regardless of our position on the ladder we do attract big crowds against Pies Dons and Tigers.
This is a big stage game. The atmosphere will be electric.

We must not only put on a good show, we need to pick our best team to win!
If that means 1,2 , 3,4 changes I don't care.

I don't want to be carrying Jammo. He's playing injured like he did in 2012.
Not worth the risk.

Rowe is badly out of form and should be dropped but with Jammo out safe for now.
Bring in Jaksch.

Judd is an auto selection. I'm guessing one of Dick Carrazzo or Curnow make way.
Don't think Curnow did an amazing job on Jack Stevens and have no idea what Carrazzo role was.
I'm not keen on the latter of those two.

Yarran and Kreuzer can't be considered, same with Warnock.

Will Menzel and Byrne be available? If so bring them Carrazzo and Curnow look like they're in trouble, maybe Boekhurst is sub.

Backline

Buckley Rowe Byrne
Walker Jaksch Tuohy

Midfield

Wood/ Casboult
Judd Cripps Gibbs
Murphy Simpson Docherty

Forward line

Jones or Watson?.....conundrum...maybe one more chance for Jones to heed the advice of Gerard Healy.

Henderson
Bell. Menzel Armfield

Swingman

Everitt

Yarran's suspended, Kruezer's injured ... but why can't Warnock be considered Bondi? I thought he was playing in the 2's ... did something happen? Injured?

Wood was very good on Saturday and was good against Essendon* the week before too. It's still his spot to lose at the moment.

I'd go:

Out: Ellard, Curnow, Dick
In: Judd, Menzel, Whiley

I'd like to get Jaksch back in but maybe the week after against Brisbane is better timing. I think Cloke and White would just be too physically strong for him.

I was impressed with his inside work last year. Very impressed.

Noticed on the weekend he applied that shoulder for some inside work in the 2nd half and he did well.

When Gibbs applies himself he is A grade in the middle.

Some people just don't like him or his hair. I think that's personal and each to their own.

He's a good footballer.
He's on our list in 2015.
He's in our best 22 in 2015.
I want to win as many games as we can.
I'd like us to turn this season around.
I like to think how we can best use Gibbs.
I know he's useful as a HB for quality distribution
I know he's useful forward for 2-3 too, but I like him in the middle .
This way we can manipulate the troops to provide some outside run.
I'd like Judd, Murphy, Simpson and Boekhurst outside.
If we can add Gibbs outside because Cripps and Whiley can do a job there...bonus.

We can win this if we can win and retain possession....and be efficient going forward.

I'm another who rates Gibb's inside work. He's best when he starts in the contest and works from there, like at a stoppage, where i think he's the most damaging we have. Not so good charging in for a loose ball around the ground but he normally makes it a 50/50 even against the oppositions best

Agreed. Hence why I'd play him forward to begin with, rotating with Judd.

Blair usually has a party against us. It's a shame Byrne is out - I reckon he'd rise to the challenge of shutting him down.

I'd shake things up this week.

Rowe's been a liability down back. I'd swing him forward alongside Walker, Menzel a resting Cripps/Judd.

I'd swing Hendo back to man Cloke, and Jaksch to man White. Both will need to run their men around early, and are certainly capable of it. I'd put Casboult in the ruck and push him back to cut off Cloke/White if the ball is lobbed in high.

Malty reckons he doesnt gift players games, so really , Rowey should not be in the cut for now.

Were going to have to improve our outside football... And possessing the ball if we're going to win this one.

Watching the magpies they were very good outside and closing the exits when they didn't have the ball.
