Not a Malthouse fan but I really hope we pull something out for him in this game. It would be terrific for him and the club to win this.
But if recent milestone games and clutch games are anything to go by we will roll over and take it from behind.
Win this one blues and show the football world you have some sort of spirit

You have a point. Can we find a new role for him as a follower when not rucking...just plays between the arcs, some relief rucking, some getting back when needed, some forward entries where some small follows him..and if he marks, its a quick handball, shepherd and shot at goal.

He will not make it as a forward-2nd ruck. His role needs tweaking because his kicking can't be tweaked

..wood had a decent game, knockers is going to have to break into this team.. ..if the chance of krooz returning doesn't fire him up I reckon knockers may have given up.. ..he's quickly running out of time.. ..ellard stays, you deadset need a minimum number of players with real heart and ellard plays with heart.. ....should be run through the middle as part of the second string..

Except he wouldn't run out the game. He is yet to run out a game in midfield in his career.

The bloke is playing at his maximum, we have others who can offer more both short-term and long-term, and we should be looking at them.

Are you suggesting we should drop a bloke because he's playing at his maximum?
I thought that was a good thing.

He drops below 80% game time when he plays midfield (his best spot if he's not being exposed the other way for pace), which makes him a liability.

Everywhere you play him there's a caveat beyond concentration levels and consistency. That's generally a bad sign. He might survive another 2-5 games, but if we're still using him once the kids are up and running fitness-wise, I'll be shocked.

If he's playing HF this week he should be dumped for Menzel. Judd and Whiley come into midfield before him; he might survive due to Curnow's form.

I look forward to his post-playing career as I think if he's not a hot-head about it, he could be an excellent coach. Extracted everything out of himself.

I thought Ellard was really very good. Terrific pressure. One of the first picked next week.

If Watson and Jones will each only touch the ball 5x in a game, and neither chases, I'd have WAtson as he will kick the goals from those touches.

I'm not an Ellard fan but he was our best small in the first half Imo.
Murphy had it a lot in the first quarter and Simmo got the outside ball but the real hard tough stuff was all Ellard.

He deserves his spot for the Collingwood game, but that depends on who comes in.

Ellard was doing well till he got his nose smashed by friendly fire and had to leave the ground with 20 mins left in game

Absolutely!
Or put him on Cloke? Is that waste though?
If Jammo is fit he must play.
My Q. is,
Who can we replace Rowe with?
He is not fit enough at the moment.
Do we have anyone?

I guess it depends who is coming back in.
