..by your logic Jimmie, the competition should be flush with elite fitness sub 22 year olds.. ..when it clearly is not.. ..elite afl in match fitness takes time to develop.. ..players and coaches constantly mention kids needs a few preseasons to build up.. ..aside from the genuine top few..

For those saying Crippa's game was exaggerated by the small ground & young opponents - can someone explain why Dunstan struggled?

If Cripps played well because of the ground etc, then surely Dunstan should've. Given he is more experienced too.

Cripps played well because the ground was smaller, I'll agree to this in part, but as anyone knows it takes some time to reach AFL fitness levels, and I think for where Cripps is right now, I would say his "smaller ground effort" today, is a sign of things to come as his fitness levels grow. So yes, on a smaller ground today he gave a glimpse of whats to come and with a couple more pre-seasons under his belt, I don't see larger grounds being a problem at all for him.

dunstan didnt struggle... he did ok

cripps was clearly way better

the difference is Dunstan played for a team where draftees from his pool were expected to go head to head with players from older draft pools on a small and congested ground where it was all hard going.

CLEARLY if you have more guys older and afl prepared your kids will struggle less than a bunch thrown to the lions

and some IDIOTS want every senior player dropped and more young players in the side all playing at the one time..

its a fine line.. and you cant tip it over the edge...

As i said youll get a better indication of our young players next week on a big ground against Collingwood and their young players blended with their experienced players.

their young players looked mighty impressive yesterday on the big ANZAC day stage... on the big MCG ground ..against a side in the eight...

We beat StKilda who were much younger than us .. with much smaller bodies on a small congested ground.
the fifty meter arc was almost touching the centre square.,,

So lets see how we go next week

When you win its natural to savour the moment for a few days.

When you lose its natural to move on to next week immediately.

Dunstan and Cripps will have ups and downs while they mature as footballers.

Give it a rest synbad. You couldn't be more obnoxious by re-posting the same opinion over and over.

Lol.

Lucky I don't get a woody out of beating st kilda and getting sent over to new Zealand to play in front of ten thousand on the big Anzac day clash....
Lucky you...!

Out of interest, when was the last time you got a woody sailor man? You sound very frustrated.

my woody doesnt come from footy mate...

if i relied on the footy for woody it would be kind of sooty...

you get your woody from the footy do you???

Buckley gives us a certain energy. Makes mistakes but has dash. If Byrne can add to that there will be less pressure on Yaz which will free him to go nuts.

Buckley had a couple of brain fades, but he will learn from that.

I agree about dash and energy those 3 will create. Plus there's Docherty too.

Walker and Simmo for a couple years more.

Just got to make sure we don't run into trouble and to pass to players I a better position.

yes London..we need our players building and improving week by week...year to year...

were not last for nothing... playing off for a wooden spoon v the other last team

you blokes really need to get things into perspective...

but for now... our supporters will take anything....

its where the club is...

bu think about where this club used to be... and where it is today

Got it.....we are a long way back. Sitting in a hotel room in Shanghai, it was about 20 minutes into the 2nd qtr I was digesting how bad things had become.

I don't care about the win. I do care that we see signs from the guys we have brought in the last 2-3 years. At least today we got that in the main. None of them are perfect (Cripps, Buckley, bell, Henderson, Docherty and Everett)......

At half time - as the game of football was crashing down around my little world - all i asked the walls for was endeavour.......and from those guys above we got it. (Plus special mention to Murphy who got hold of the ball)

It was looking dim in the first half and half of the 3rd. Great to see some spirit.

That group you mention were great!

buckley has some positives and a quite a few negatives
it seems his positives are the same possitives as 4 years ago

and his negatives are the same negatives as 4 years ago also

buckley needs to work very hard and improving himself

Relief more than excitement with that win.

Murphy goes to ground a heck of a lot.

He got the nut and nullified a few of their mids.

Pressed, tackled, went down and got straight up quickly.
He was quite perky.

That's the Murph I want to see week in week out.

I thought Buckleys run and carry at a time in the game when we needed it was excellent. I would love to see Yaz and Bucks in the same team.

Yep, that one. The one that was really fast and often made silly mistakes like breaking the lines and leaving the ball behind him..
