Mick is not the problem at our club ... There are so many other things that are wrong and that need to change. If he still has the passion, I honestly believe he is still the right man to rebuild the list ... But let's be honest, unless many other things change at the club, which is unlikely, then it is an impossible mission no matter who is the coach ...

Probably right there Cool Runnings. We have a terrible culture, an administration not delivering and too many egos behind the scenes with twitchy knees. Hopefully that's starting to change. We are a long way from what we were. That while culture is nowhere in out club.

Team first approach?
Would I be out of line asking someone to somehow validate this throw away line. All I've seen lately is a Mick first approach.
Happy for someone to prove me wrong.

Check out the presser, especially the end.

Yes it could well just be rhetoric, but I think it's an incredibly frustrating job to be a coach at the CFC right now.

If it was all about him what would the press conference have looked like?

Like the one he gave earlier this year saying his contract would be a distraction to the players. Or his comment this week that criticism of him bought his wife to tears 3 times. Or his statement that he isn't shown enough respect by the media.

But hey, if someone can demonstrate to me how Mick has bought a team first approach, I'd like to read the examples.

I guess you could say the Melbourne board/admin is in better shape, but everything else was much worse.

Malthouse gets better looking with each win :P

The pressure valve was released a bit, and he didn't try and piss on a bunch of journos, then thanked the entire organising committee for the opportunity to be part of the game in NZ after the press conference had ended?

I thought it was a good, humble moment. Most selfish people under siege would continue to retreat into their defensive view point, so if that press conference is any example to go by, he clearly does want to be that kind of person.
