mick is rated around the club....big time as a person and as a coach

what will go against him is that if we gave him 2 years after we openly claimed were rebuilding the media will say how can you give a coach charged with rebuilding a team 2 years when youve said you need 3 years???

strategic mistake.... look out!

..if they include this year, than an extra two years is the three year rebuild.. ....which is a farce anyway..

....I actually see some method in the madness.. ....he's forcing a finals footy game plan on our team, which for a variety of reasons simply can't carry out.... ....he's weeding out the weaklings.. ....he's forcing Everyone to realise the playing list needs a rebuild.. ..he tried to make the club see behind closed doors but they wouldn't listen.. ..he's putting responsibility on the team on field and we all will see who stands up..

..viva Las grumpy old man..

Can't agree with that BKB; MM shouldn't be seeking man-on-man footy to prepare us for finals structures and intensity.

Won't win him a final unless the opposition is dog tired.

B..B..Bre...Brenton Sanderson perhaps?

See how he goes about improving his shortcomings and development with the academy.

I'm not convinced we'll have a new coach. But if I was making a short list I'd have:

Brendan Bolton
Cameron Bruce
Stewy Dew
Michael Voss
Josh Carr
Chad Cornes
Scott Burns
Nathan Bassett
Adam Kingsley

We wont sack Malthouse, and as much as i dislike him and his arrogance, i do think he is the man for the job now that ive come to terms with the fact we have to rebuild.
Our issue is our so called 'top line players '
We dont have the skills or polish to finish off plays.. we get the ball do all the hard work and turn it over and dont get back and help the backline.

Most annoying personality ever. Like evva!!!!!
Cmon we can get Vossy or Ling or stewie dew..ideally grab Rootsy with one of these as mentor for a year or 2..and off we go.
Also get a board spill...and
Maybe that elusive missing spirit of carlton called Hope might return.

please just get a coach that understands attacking footy is where the game is going. Even Ross lyon has embraced the change.

cant attack till u understand how to defend

agree though it cant be a fortress

but our players cant do the defensive spead.. and when you lose the ball... youre our of position... so u need to be capable of getting your players defensive minded and running to the right spots pronto.
our players dont really do that... so the danger is getting gutted like a pig...

You are probably correct Synners, but I don't see how anyone could look at the first three rounds and be satisfied that the coaching group has prepared the playing group adequately. Fitness, game plan when we've got the ball, game plan when we don't, game plan when we win the ball and game plan when we lose it. We've been incredibly easy to play against this year.

Until watching us this first few weeks I was fully in favour of us reappointing Mick for another 3 years and seeing it through, at least until we had a good base of quality young players doing things the right way, and able to teach the new waves of draftees coming in. But I can't see how an inadequate coaching and support team is going to properly develop kids, so I think a big broom is needed and get someone young with a firm grasp of the modern game, with his own assistants and fitness team.
