You'd reckon Walker and Whiley would need another week in the VFL.

Watson won't make us better, but if Jones has another bad game then maybe we have to make that swap. Can you imagine a slower forward line than Watson, Casboult and Henderson?

I had a bad feeling during the preseason that Rowe was going to have a shocker and unfortunately it's working out that way. What do we do? Drop him and play Hendo back? The problem is that the only time we look any good is when Hendo is leading up. I think we might have to keep playing Rowe, at least until Jaksch comes back.

Anyway, we're shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. We're simply crap. Not fit enough. Not smart enough. Not hard enough.

On the positives......who will be the #1 pick in the Draft this year...?

To clarify ABNS, my line up would look like so:

FB: Byrne Jamison Rowe
HB: Tuohy Henderson Docherty
CC: Yarran Gibbs Simpson
HF: Bell Everitt Murphy
FF: Menzel Casboult Watson

RR: Wood Cripps Judd

Int: Curnow Tutt Buckley
Sub: Walker

the difference needs to be in the coaches box and with the ridiculous game style the coach is trying to get us to play

Buckley, Watson, Armfield, DVR, Walker and Boekhorst all putting their hands up for selection in the VFL practice game today.

Foster, Johnson, Graham and Whiley all ticking along as well.

Walker with 8 touches in the second term and 16 touches in the third term for Northern.

I think he can come into the team.

He's got 24 possessions in 2 quarters (50-60 minutes) of footy, factor in a 60% conversion through the VFL to AFL move (they might be kids but their skill level is exceptional) and you're looking at 25-30 possession game.

He can sub just fine, and come on at half-time. By all reports he could play the whole game...

Walker, Army and Buckley straight in on that performance. They are lighting it up, with DVR and Boekhorst not far behind.

Graham had a huge final term, but you'd expect that versus U18s. Whiley faded.

Was a very open game of footy and we only had two senior talls running around. Nothing more than hit and giggle against a very talented, if young, team.

I'm happy with that, all the right players hit some good numbers.

Here's my revised team, hopefully it comes close to the mark because we need to freshen up the squad:

FB: Byrne Jamison Rowe
HB: Docherty Henderson Tuohy
CC: Yarran Gibbs Simpson
HF: Armfield Everitt Murphy
FF: Menzel Casboult Bell

RR: Wood Cripps Judd

Int: Curnow Buckley Boekhorst
Sub: Walker

EMG: Graham DVR Watson

Watson missed out now after the performances of Boekhorst, Armfield and Buckley, who ran hard for four quarters on the G. Yes the tags will be tighter and the opponents stronger, but they won't be huddled around the clearances or playing off half-back. They'll be providing run from HF and zip around the packs in the 50.

Watson could create a few good contests as well, but better to have Levi smashing packs solo and throwing Hendo & Rowe into the mix as needed. Menzel and Everitt will make for excellent lead targets and can push outside the 50 to create the links we need.

Walks to come on in the third quarter and light it up as one of Menzel, Buckley or Boekhorst inevitably tires.

It's six changes, but Ellard was an emergency, White's injured and Smith, Carrazzo and Jones are physically off the pace at the moment. No place for Tutt when we have better form smalls bouncing about; he'll get another shot down the track.

We've made some selection errors, and now it's time to fix them.

We got cheated once again... It all started with the Draft... throwing away draft picks for Recycled rubbish that will take you no where...

JONES- Scam of a Trade ( did any genuis in our Club wonder why he wasnt getting a game at the Bulldogs?)
TUTT- Scam of a Trade ( did any genuis in our Club wonder why he wasnt getting a game at the Bulldogs?)

Wiley: Potential for a Scam- Not ready, not fit, no one knows if he can even play
Clem Smith: Useless Kid who needs 5 years before we can even know if he can play

The Rest don't seem to be any better.....

The Biggest Scam of them all is the fact the CLUB is standing by the Coach and Mick himself is refusing to take any of the Blame and responsibility for what is happening!!

Boycotting the Club is the only option left....

Not sure you're being balanced in your view there Dodo. Last night was shit, but there's more to come from all of those names, and they certainly weren't valued as high as you make them out to be.

Tutt was a PSD pick, Smith was barely picked before him in terms of true draft order. Whiley was steak knives and brings depth in a clearance role, Jaksch was the star of that trade and we moved down just the 12 spots in the first round.

Let's get some perspective folks, there's room for improvement but the axe needs to be swung at the selection table with an emphasis on fitness and attacking skills.

We will reach new depths this week.

If you think watching a severely undermanned and generally poor West Coast embarrass us was bad. (Kennedy kicking 10 was the icing on the cake) then next week will be way worse. We will be embarrassed on many levels

After watching us for 2 weeks in a row I just can't see how we're going to manufacture a winning score.

Bombing it forward to pack situations is 50/50 at best. No Betts, No Garlett to feed off any packs leaves us with who should a mark fail to stick?

But if a mark does stick, the likely candidate is Casboult. Again 50/50 at best if he kicks it or not.

Why does any of this matter?

Because if the game is won and lost in the center, and you've worked your backside off to get it forward and it comes screaming past to the other end, as a center player, you'll find yourself running to both ends of the ground repeatedly.

Besides the obvious physical exhaustion running forward and back for 4 quarters will have, the psychological impact of hard work moving the ball forward for zero return, will also take a massive toll.

As an example, the Eagles center do the hard yards to move the ball forward and are rewarded by watching their full forward slot through 10 majors. You think that doesn't lift players understanding that their hard work is worth the effort?

Yet we put in exactly the same workload in for a 50/50 at best, and watch the ball come screaming back the other way and that's not going to impact players ability to maintain their composure and cost them physical energy (without reward) chasing the other way?

Its about reward for effort.

The current structure we have forward is not offering much reward for effort. Continual 50/50 chances that more often than not resulting in points, or worst, coming back the other way does absolutely nothing for our confidence or belief the effort is worth the reward.

We can shuffle team lists all we want, but until we have a working forward set up that produces results, imho, we'll just continue this merry-go-round of ins & outs and humiliating loses.

Make us work hard moving the ball forward for little reward, and make us work harder chasing it back and we'll throw in the towel pretty quickly. Two weeks has shown this thus far.

Betts, Garlett, and Waite provided reward for effort. Casboult 50/50 at best. Who else do we have? Like I said, I can't see us manufacturing a winning score.

Just put most of them in. Can't do any worse, and it gives some of them experience givn developing and rebuilding is more the issue than winning now. Time to change up the personnel.

Buckley Jammo White
Simpson Henderson Docherty
Whiley Judd Everitt
Menzel Casboult Yarran
Walker Watson Armfield
Wood Gibbs Murphy

Cripps, Grahram, Boekhorst, Bell

Gibbs and Murphy have to come good at some stage after interruptiuons late pre-season.

White will miss at least one game. Whiley isn't fit yet. Graham isn't ready yet and is playing the role Ellard did in the VFL a few years back; needs to show more than the ability to accumulate with the benefit of AFL training schedules behind him.

Watto didn't do enough on the day and needs more time to find form. We can afford to lose two talls without hurting our structure.

No love for Byrne?
