 seriously do we think a coaching team of Clarkson and Hinkley could do much more with this crap list?

I'm not saying MM is the answer but to lay the blame purely on him is very short sighted.

If we had Clarkson and Hinkly would we have this list?

..neither coach would have us, that's the issue.. ..this is club is stuffed..

All guys that should be in the team leading the charge into finals football.

And don't forget Kennedy!

And that's where it starts and finishes.

We need and needed to take a more orthodox approach with recruitment.

I'm going to walk with the epitaph...just to cleanse my soul.

Good Friday football. What do you expect?

Malthouse: Full credit to West Coast. We were very bad outside of the first quarter. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: The move of Rosa to Judd was telling. Our team didn't cope. We expected more. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: We went back into our shell. We have to find people who can stand up under pressure and make the right decisions. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: We expect players who have been in the AFL system for a while to be leaders. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: We just want all players to put their hand up and respond when the going gets tough. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: Our goal is always to make finals. We'll never give up on it and our supporters - they're our greatest asset. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: Casboult was competitive. He'll hold his place in the side. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: Warnock may come up for next week. Kreuzer is another 4-5 weeks off. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: I can categorically say that our fitness is not an issue. #NAVYBLUES
Malthouse: We are as adequate as anyone physically. We need to improve mentally. #NAVYBLUES

The first question should be,
"The club is in the middle of a huge membership drive and most of the comments on fan forums as we speak are calling for your head. What do you think staying on will do for the membership numbers?"

Why do people keep posting that you must be in one group or the other?

Because people want easy answers?

He's the coach. He's not worried about membership numbers. He needs to start worrying about win loss numbers.

Malthouse has had three drafts to mould a team and gameplan to his liking. It's headed for disaster. Millions of dollars down the drain and no onfield success. It's a bad look.

what didnt take long is for this great club to disintegrate into near oblivion...

130 years of greatness cut down by 20 years and especially 10/15 cluelessness

We pinched Collingwood's CEO (Swann) pinched their coach (Malthouse) and pinched their player (Thomas) but the thing we haven't pinched but should have pinched was their chief recruiter (Hine).

The lack of key players coming through via the draft is choking us.

We are going backwards very quickly.

..yes and no, in his third season but he isn't tweaking the list, he's breaking it down to reshape it.. ..will take more than three years from a list perspective.. ..needs a few more years too.. ..but the list, what he got and what he has changed, is still too fragile.. ..he very well may not be the coaching answer, but I think the problem goes beyond the coach.. ..may very well include him, but there's something rotten in our list..

Blue Vain's post early last season:

Quote:
Ask yourself, how can one of the most successful and popular clubs in the AFL have fallen so far? Not only have we made an artform out of making poor decisions. We're on the second orbit of repeating them. I cant comprehend why the supporters and members are not standing up and voicing their disgust. Not only are these fools @#$%&! our club over, we're actually paying them to do it. :donk:

MM brought up the point that players don't want to come to Carlton because we are in the bottom tier. Free agents don't want to come to our club (Thomas excluded) and it is harder for the bottom clubs to rebuild quickly.
