With Norf?
have you seen their supporters?
have you listened to them?
have you seen their jumper?

now, if we would merge to become the 1st tassie/vic team, with lots and lots of bonuses, cheap flights and lovely hotel stays, tons of draft pick concessions, just like bloody Suns/GWs
then
yeah!!!!
all for it.
the old dark tassie blues.
cfc on the front
tassie tiger on the back.
free cascades all around.

Always wanted to move to Tassie, just couldn't find a reason.

Cheap house in Lonnie or Hobart, maybe with a couple acres, some goats and chickens.

Have to brush up on my casserole skills and I haven't lit a wood fire in a few years, but I reckon it's got legs.

So people wanted us to sign Waite on big coin and a two year deal like Norf did.... at his age... and with his injury and discipline record ? The fact he left MM's house telling him he'll stay, and then announced he was leaving the Club a week later, shows where his priorities are... $$$.
And they wanted us to keep Jeffy after his repeated pea heart efforts, sooking in the 2s, and off field misdemeanors that led to him losing the respect of his team mates ?

I loved Jiffy.
He was never a pea heart.
He is what he is.
He is a feathery skittish, super fast and skilled crumber
who added some goals and some excitement.
I for one miss him.
and Eddie.

No.

10 years ago we were cheating hopeless & crap.

Now we've been through that, failed at a resurgence, and need to start again.

2015 > 2005.

Huge challenges ahead but they're normal challenges.

Accurate.

The question re Garlett was if we/ MM could turn him around.

If it's true players had enough of Jeff, then so be it, if not, we lose.

All supporters ask is if we have replaced the gaps Garlett and Waite have left?

I see Jones and Tutt as replacements more so than Smith (long term perhaps replacement for Bettsy Imo) and Fields/coz I see the drafted kids as building on to our previous efforts.

Given we knew we were taking Thomas we should have kept Betts..no use looking at that now because it's happened and furthermore, when MM retires and if he has failed he will be tarnished by Blue Venon by 1000 x Big Blue Wave and co.

there is no bigger pointer than how culture works in football clubs.. Than the sacking of the big fev.
That was supposed to be what changed the direction of the player's culture.
It was going to be the cultural compass that was going point us north...
We can make as many changes as we like but ultimately its all about the club culture from the top down
.. Not the bottom up.

Can keep on with the charade for decades...
The club is in a crap place...

Ultimately changing the dynamic of the playing group isn't changing the dynamic of the football club

It breaks my heart watching Eddie playing with the Crows. Those adoring fans should be us.

Sam jocobs.............biggest mistake carlton has ever made. What makes it worse is that he was playing good footy when we gave him to the crows. Now he is the best ruck in the afl.

That was just the start of the rot.
Quickly followed by trading pick 11 for McLean, taking Lucas instead of Tahlia.
It just goes on and on.

our problem isnt the players
its not the coach
its not the footy manager andrew mckay
its not the ceos
its not the recruiters and list managers

its everything ... and dont leave out anything

singularly u might think u can fix it by replacing bits and pieces with other bits and pieces

ultimately it all stems from the top.....

theyre trying to replace everything .. but uts them thats the problem

I really think it is time we make the big call. Get ahead of the game with a progressive move that leaves the others in our wake.
The amount of clubs in Melbourne is unsustainable. Things are going to get even harder for Melbourne based clubs and the Saints, Dogs and North are really going to struggle and we will struggle too due to being crap at a really bad time.

You watch the interstate teams with their stadiums and full houses and you can't see a flag for any of the struggling clubs in Melb for a long time. Hawks and Pies are huge. They will always be in the game. Dons and Tigers not too far behind. They are safe.

I think we get together with North and create a super club. Take the MCG as our own as part of the deal. Train out of PP and build a couple of museums to honour the past. Northern Blues.

Forget about all the negativity in our minds with mergers. This is 2015. This would be a Collingwood moving to the MCG or Hawks to Waverly type move only on a 2015 grand scale.

Not sure what the AFL or North think about such a move but if they were onboard it would be MASSIVE.

Our jumper and song would have to go but i am sure we could find a nice shade of Blue between Navy and Royal.

A whole new board with 6 guns on it.

Some fans will drop off but in time new ones will take their place and some.

Blue skies ahead for Northern.

Carn a blues.

No way.

We are not broke.

We are not filling the stadiums because we fail on the field.

Fix that up and the seats will be Navy Blue again.

Can't see it happening. Not to a level where we win flags and our fans get the "Hawthorn experience".

I see it more as an aggressive move. Getting on the front foot. A modern day version of the Hawks taking on Tasmania. I see it as something that other clubs will look at in 15 years and regret not getting involved.
I know there is a lot of pride attached and mergers are generally not looked at as a positive move. Particularly with those that followed the game through the 80's and 90's but i really think times are changing and these days change again even quicker. It is a huge 2015 play that i am suggesting.

If done right it can be done with our heads held high and will lead to a better football experience for the Blues and Roos fans.

Go Blues.

The day this club is forced/chooses to merge or re-locate etc... is the day I'll piss on this code and never look back
