Just not comfortable with the ruck situation. Don't like the idea of Rowe rucking. We need a settled backline. There are no other options in the team really.

Rowe won his fair share of hitouts against Geelong. Should be ok.

More like to use Cripps and Henderson.

I want to see a big game from Daisy. I can understand he was coming from a fair way back last season but he shouldn't really have any excuses this year. on the money we are paying him he should be playing more through the middle of the ground. As a pure forward I think we would have been better off matching Adelaide's money for Betts. A firing daisy would be huge for the team

If they did, they'd probably need to throw Rowe forward, otherwise Henderson would be one out down there. Still forces you to adjust your defensive matchups. Might as well just put Rowe straight in the ruck.

I love the team selection segment over on CFC website.
Really good initiative.

Vickery always seems to have a birthday against us. Glad he looks like missing.

Excited about tomorrow night but a little worried about who is going to kick the goals and whether we can kick a winning score

The mids and role players need to be working hard.

I think we're too tall down back, not tall enough fwd.

If Vickery isn't late inclusion, a tall back needs to play fwd. can one of Rowe or Jaksch play KPF? Would White be big enough to disrupt Tigers KPD'd or should Casboult come in?

I'm thinking Casboult in for White, that way KPD's don't have to rearrange every time wood needs a break. If we're too tall sub one out. Throw Jaksch or Rowe fwd if required when Casboult rucks.

Maybe I'm biased and they would probably say the same thing about us but does Richmond's team look really average to anyone else?

Riewoldt and Martin are obvious dangers but apart from that it just looks like an ordinary side for mine.

Agree.

One of Rowe, Jaksch and White will be spending reasonable amounts of time forward.
Menzel is an awkward type for them to match up on so the third tall should hopefully cause them a few defensive miss-matches as we chop and change.

Yeah I think your on the money there. White has been played forward quite a bit through the pre-season and looks the most likely. I would prefer they continue to play Jaksch as a defender to find his feet in the team before moving him around. he looks a great get for us.

I second this. And i not only 'want' it, i 'expect' it. He's on the big bucks, he needs to deliver.

The Five things i want from this game
1) a Win, stating the obvious there but a win first up would be huge.
2) Daisey to have an impact like the (apparently) A grader he is.
3) Cripps to deliver some excitement for us as a future star.
4) Jones to find some belief (he kicked 27goals from 10 games in the VFL last year. He can play!)
5) Jaksch to be solid and show why we gave our first pick for him.

C'Mon Blue Boys!

For those talking about Jones in the ruck, he has 59 career hitouts, and two games where has had more than 5 hitouts. They didn't have an embarrassment of riches in the ruck division at the Bulldogs, so you would have seen more if he was capable.

Might have rucked OK before the centre circle rule, but not now.

I think White, Jones, Everitt, Henderson and Menzel are very capable of kicking 10 goals between them on a given night. The defensive group will probably snag 2, which leaves the midfield and attacking smalls 5-7 for a decent score.

If we're not consistently letting them free wheel from HB to HF and actually kick the ball sharp and deep into 50, we'll get more opportunities than them to win.

All that takes is concentration and a little coordination as a team. This is the stuff they train for; plenty of suburban footballers who can put it on a dime or bolt up the wing under no pressure.

Jones is the key in this game. He will need to support Hendo and play as a true KP forward. He'll need to pressure the ball carriers on the way out like Cassy does. Having said that, I think Menzal might have the night out tomorrow playing as a lead up forward from deep.

Only concern is taking Rowey out of defence to be back up ruck but I guess he can do it when Griffiths goes in ruck.

Looks like we've gone for run. Especially as it's meant to rain tomorrow. So don't want too many talks on wet deck.

Unlikely to rain during the afternoon/evening.
