Not sure MM will play too many new/newish players at once. It's likely only two, possibly three maximum will come in particularly since two of them will be holding down significant positions.

I think the order of preference will be.
Jones
Jaksch
Tutt
Smith
Cripps.
Boekhorst
Byrne

If I'm being honest, I'm expecting that score by qtr time.

Yep go it.

I think we will struggle to kick 10 goals a game with our forward line. Unfortunately that isn't quite as funny.

Agreed, however we have poor skills and turn the ball over too much.

We burn a lot of ball. I can't see how they won't cough up a heap of footy and put too much pressure on the defence let alone get it in quickly to a target.

Sorry for my pessimism but I am not confident at all about this season.

I hope I'm wrong.

..yep, don't want too many inexperienced players in all at once, players like Bell aren't seasoned campaigners either, neither is Doc..

....i'd say Kj and Crisps are two you can lock in out of that list.. ..Jones isn't inexperienced with 66 senior games, so maybe not for the list but he is new to the club I uses, if not senior footy..

..but we wouldn't want the team to go in too young..

may be true regarding the season but the tigers have been known to cough it up a lot too. That is where I wish we could apply more forward pressure... In the past they have got nervous in the opener.

Cas will play. The question for mine is, who will ruck? I think it will be Wood because he is better suited to playing against Maric.
We will go with three talls and will burst out of the gate with running footy down the middle to them before the flood can get into place. We saw a bit of it against Collingwood. If we have three potential marking forwards, Richmond will have to put an extra back in to sweep but t's hard to cover three at once.
Richmond have a slight problem up forward. Reiwoldt is their only real marking forward Tippet hasn't had a good run with injuries. If we can close Jack down and try to slow Martin down, I think they will struggle to kick a big enough score to win.

This is a huge game for both sides. They fancy themselves as on the rise and unlucky they didn't do better and on the face of it, they're right. They finished 2014 H&A in top fashion. We were a bit unlucky to finish where we did last year but if we are going to climb up the ladder we have to beat those sides who were in the bottom half of the eight and pick off the odd big scalp. BUT most importantly, we can not relax against the also rans and lose to sides like StK, Essendon*, Melbourne, GCS or GWS. Those games have to be set in concrete before the first ball is bounced for the season.

I'm not going to pick a side. It's impossible at this time of the year but I think players like Touhy and White who played a bit of footy last year will need to improve because we have recruited players who might kick them out of their spots. I can't see Touhy in the back line as a permanent BP this season. If he can't find another string to his bow, he's in trouble. White is a good serviceable player but IMO, Jones, Everrit and Jaksch will squeeze him out.

Looking forward to a cracker of a game with us running over them in the last like we usually do or almost do.

Dustin Martin has me worried. Who goes to him?
Carrazzo on Martin
Curnow on Deledio

I also worry about Jones in the team. I don't think he makes it plus I think we are too tall with him.

Jacksh Jamo Doc
Yarran Rowe Simmo
Everitt Murphy Gibbs
Thomas Hend Tutt
Buckley Bolt Menzel
Wood Judd Carrazzo
Cripps Curnow Tuohy
Bell

I would like to have Cripps, Carrazzo and Curnow in the team. I think some might think you can't play them all but still plenty of run and dash with Menzel, Thomas, Buckley, Tuohy and Tutt. That's not even looking at our run from the backline.

True. There is always someone in the round 1 team you don't expect though. You could substitute Smith or Boekhurst instead of Buckley perhaps.

The way Geelong were breaking Carlton tackles I don't think it matters who plays on him, he'll just be throwing out don't argues like confetti.

Its not very often a round 1 game is a season defining game but in the context of where this club is at.
This game is massive.
Careers on the line here lose this then a trip to West followed by what most likely will be a full strength bombers then all of a sudden we are zip and 3 season over.
Bloody hope we win this

I'm sorry but if Casboult plays on form, all of these trades and structural alterations are for nothing because we're still hamstrung by our 2nd ruck situation.

We play well over here in the west.

We'd have the Eagles and Freo aren't rock solid against us either.

Threw away a game we should've easily won against bombers last year.

A more disciplined and focused effort and we could just as easily be 3 wins and change.

I think he's ahead of them as a player. Just not sure he'll play with Simpson and Gibbs coming in but I think we are likely to play a small forward and Clem may play sub.

MM may want more pace. We look a bit slow.
