Clem didn't hit anyone.

The day was a failure.

Looks like we will be competitive this year. Will be good to see how we go against Geelong.

Geelong looked to have their game going well early the other night. So @#$%&! crisp and clean with there disposal, really pissed me off.

Plus they've ramped up their unsociable stuff. Ergh.

Pros:

Better structure and game plan today. Mixed it up more. Good stuff.
JUDD & Carrazzo ... Enough said. Can't believe people wanted these 2 retired.
Cripps, Broakhurst, Smith showed a bit. Excellent.
Tutt did some nice things as well but needs to do more.
Docherty & Jaksch look like they are ready to take another step.
Wiped the smile off Fated's face, even if it was a practise game.

Cons:

Should have won by more.
Need to get better value from our possessions but it's early yet.

Yes. If we can give em some back I'll be happy.

Backline had little run and carry except for yaz
Tutt and BB get ticks
Smith not this year. Will get games but not ready
Cripps will get there but I didnt like his game today. Not attacking enough
Daisy murphy gibbs and walker are big ins but no juddy no carlton.
We would need to be injury free to play finals

Still plenty to work on. We over possessed and to have about 80 more possessions but significantly less inside 50s will need to be addressed. We'll lose more than we'll win if we can't develop a better system going into the forwardline.

Looking at the positives it was a good hit out, lot's of positive contributions and some exciting passages of play. Great to see some quality contested grabs up forward. Judd keeps on keeping on. Jamo injury free this time of year is a huge bonus.

Amazing how many pros come out of a 2 goal win. I am sure if they kicked two quick goals at the end and pinched it, then we would have 50 thousand negatives :)

Was a good hard hit out with a lot of guys blowing, which is great match fitness for round 1.

Yazz, Juddy and Everitt should all be in the votes. Yazz earnt him a year long tag today.

Always good to beat the old foe, even if it is just practice. I do hope that there is more to the gameplan then bomb the ball in to the forward line to 2-3 talls each time with no small forwards crumbing. Will be easy to defend, if that is the case.

Jaksch looks a long term solid and reliable player.

Boekhorst maybe a contributer by I think a 1st round pick is overs.

Byrne looks a good pickup. Clearly improving at a good rate.

We pay millions on coaching and Levi's kicking is still poor.

Some of the decision making and awareness is still lacking.

Have to say it is a positive step.
We had high hopes of KJ and he is meeting them.
We were unsure about BB and whilst it is early at least you can see the potential
Jones may not be a waite replacement but we were hoping for 2 goals/game and today was a good start.
Carrots and Judd don't look past it.
Touhy looks better
Tutt, Clem and Byrne don't look like spuds
White looking less like the JR of TC
We played smarter.

still need to work on keeping it inside F50
kicking to a lead inside F50 (although it sounded like there were less bombs today - is that right?)
getting it beyond the press from defence
getting a ruck man to be damaging inside F50
getting Bolt to kick straight
getting Bell to make better decisions - but he does find the ball.

From AFL site:
INJURIES
Collingwood: Grundy (hip)
Carlton: Cripps (eye), Simpson (ankle), Warnock (left shoulder), Gibbs (shoulder), Judd (eye)

I assume Judd and Cripps were just cuts.
Any news about Warnock and Simpson _ I suspect Simmo's is minor but it may explain why Warnock didn't finish the game...

simpson should be fine - he was back on the field in the second half.

As for warnock... - IIRc, he's had ongoing shoulder issues for a while. Combined with his injury record, I wouldn't think he'd be back for rd 1

Nothing spectacular *this year* after watching the game. But ...

I think we've finally turned a massive corner as far as our immediate future is concerned. After watching the game I didn't feel like "here we go again" a few good players and a bunch of hole fillers. Were actually building a decent team, with some depth, some speed, and if all goes as we hope, I dare say 2016 onwards will be some fantastic times for blue baggers.

I liked what I saw today.

We will be under the blanket along with 10-12 sides this year with a little luck we may improve on last year.
More positive than negative today but I didn't like how they give up a 33 point lead in the space of 6 minutes.
Need to learn how to stop teams getting a run of goals against us

Simmo was limping at half time, then in the rooms after the game. Played the full game so should be fine.

Judd clashed heads with Boekhorst.

Cripps clashed heads with Thomas I think. Funny contest that one, full on accidental nose butt.

Nice to see new/fringe players show a bit more this week. Was encouraged by Tutt and Jones. Also thought Cripps was much better this week. Jaksch was good again.

Good effort from senior players in Yarran, Judd, Everitt, Carrazzo, White.
