Flower me drunk Healy is carrying on like Eric McKenzies knee is as big a story as John Colemans knee.

Final score was 78 to 47
But 2 late super goals to wood and 2E made us look better
25 scoring shots to 11 tells the true story

In the end the score flattered us.
BUT we came out of it unscathed.
Jaksch, Smith, Boekhurst once looked OK. Yarran early. Bell and Touhy got it a bit. Jones presented OK on a night of poor passing and F50 entries. Buckley a couple of good efforts but couldn't get clear. Armfield I like but I think his time has been and gone.

Not much to write home about but another week gone, another potential week of injuries survived, and one week closer to round one.

We just look so tired, almost to a man. I don't mind it because it's the pre-season so if that's why we look heavy in the legs and restricted on the spread, but if we aren't rolling by round 2 or 3, it'll be fair to ask why we haven't learnt about previous seasons.

I'd much rather us 7-4 going into the break because we peaked a little early and then reset over the mid-season break, than digging a massive hole for ourselves because we're arrogant enough to think we should be in finals contention. Wildly speculative at this point, I know, but we've got form under the current and previous fitness regime.

It's good to know he's competent enough to know to get to the football when it keeps coming in every 90 seconds. :P

Important player for the eagles...current best and fairest for the eagles.
Their key defender. Bit like Henderson or Jamison for the blues.

Having said that Healy is trying to make some headlines in an otherwise boring game.

I wouldn't read too much into this. However our midfield is going to struggle especially if we have one or two missing.

7 and 4 or 4 and 7
Is the most likely outcome

Kennedy kicked 4, LeCras 2 and they had just shy of 120 more possessions.

I really hope that's them being lighter on the track than us, because wow that's a gulf. Watson and Jones were completely blanketed, but again a lack of run up field doesn't help their chances of getting a few 1v1s and stretched zones.

Not much to take out of the game, spent most of it trying to work out who the new players were.
Jaksch looked good. Bell got heaps of it but continued to get caught.
Not going to panic yet.
I have never been less interested in a game as i was tonight.

Ahhh another long season. I'm not going to bag the players cause they were trying, and it's only pre-season, but it looked like the coaching staff said to a bunch of 7 yo "ok kids go run around and try and get the ball". Did we have any structure in our game?! Up forward, down back, in the centre....anywhere?
