Forgot that one of the kids is having a party tonight which means I'll probably be relegated to a room without Foxtel.
Not really worth recording to watch later.

The Commonwealth Bank owns a pretty large share.

Can they help me?

Friday night. Beers and pool at the local while watching our full list of new "recurits" show us what they've got.

Doesn't get much better.

Yes, this is one of my favourite times of the year, getting to watch the youngsters struth their stuff. I'm very excited to see our draftees in action, plus Cripps, Buckley, Jacksch, Menzel etc

Great to watch - especially now that the club has finally come along with the youth movement, instead of flogging the dead horse that our old list was - when they were hoping Carrazzo, McLean and co would take us to a flag

So Johnson and Walsh in for Carrazzo and Everitt; that's a total of 10 names missing who would be in the frame for selection in the season proper, 8 of them automatic selections IMO, so we're missing over a third of our team.

Should be an interesting test of our depth, particularly our talls and through the true midfield positions. Big chance for Graham, Yarran, Cripps, Bell, Buckley, Watson, Boekhorst, Smith and Byrne to show their wares either in other roles or as starting 18 types. There would also appear to be 3 rookie elevations up for grabs at present, so plenty for Byrne, Johnson & Gowers to compete for there alongside Sheehan & Wood.

I'll be interested in seeing what Jaksch, Tutt, Dick, Armfield and Viojo-Rainbow can produce, as well as seeing if Walsh and Fields have some quality about them.

For the opposition I'll be very keen to see how Yeo, Brown, Lamb and Lucas are tracking.

Is that official jimmae re Everitt and Carrazzo out?

Official squad of 29 was posted on the AFL website at midday on Wednesday, and they weren't in it. Would have been finalised to 26 (6-man bench, 2 subs) and 3 emergencies overnight, with final teams 90 minutes before the game.

In other news: the game is sold out!

Quote:
Carlton will also take five rookies into the game including Irishmen Ciaran Byrne and Ciaran Sheehan, along with Blaine Johnson, Cameron Wood and Tom Fields.

So no Gowers or Walsh, which leaves one more emergency.

More confirmed ins: Jones, Dick and Tutt. It's now more than likely a senior name will be the final name left off the team sheet.

Team can choose to have 6 interchange & no subs (like Hawrhorn did) or 4 & 2 subs like collingwood.

Menzel emergency? Our selection committee still has no idea. I would be playing Menzel before Tutt.

Menzel is coming off a slight injury. Guess what - these people know what they are doing.

It will be typical TC. If we win against the odds its just a practise game. If we loose, the season is over and everybody is useless.

Menzel is made of glass
No sense risking a guy of his potential in a nothing game like this
