We would receive at least a 3rd rounder if we were to trade Waite.

Getting nothing for our 'best' KP after paying top dollar for years to keep him rested on the side lines. No doubt he has preserved his body from all that rest and is worth a 2 year contract to play with NM.

We were bent over by AFL over salary cap issues in 2002...unprecedented penalties. Crows get slap over the wrist over Tippett illegal payments in 2013. AFL force us to Dome without a whimper.....

Now Waite leaves because of the AFLs FA movement and we get no compo pick? Without a whimper?

Time to dispute and appeal the decision Carlton.

Cop it and move on....no point in arguing with the rules.

First priority is fixing (implementing) a winning culture. Businesses these days look at emotional intelligence as a key indicator in successful employees....wonder how many of our blokes would pass the test?....It is time for the club to mix it with the "Big Boys" and show some maturity and leadership, instead of simply going through the motions....

I've moved on and really confident in our Navy Blue future.

There's rules? I thought the AFL just make them up as they go.

I'd appreciate it if you can show me the rules which state we wouldnt receive any compo for a player of Waite's ilk.
I'm sure the club expected a pick, and they say they planned for a pick, so what went wrong?

Garlett got us a pick 61...I'd like to compare the salary of Waite and Garlett over the next 2 years.

Some interesting comments from Judd here, in relation to the culture over recent years:

Feels like we might have heard this type of thing before, though ....

If the Madhouse is introducing a winning culture ... he is clearly failing ... given Carlton's tumble down the ladder.

He must have something else up his sleeve ....

All aboard ... Toot Toot.

Does the idea of a 'winning culture' stretch beyond the actual side that plays each week? It looks to me as if we recruit to keep appearances up and to minimize embarrassment rather than to build a side that can actually 'win' premierships. The idea of a 'winning culture' sounds just as nebulous as anything else that comes out of the club at the moment.

..hell yeah, beyond the entire club list as well.. ..from the top down, right the way through.. ..we are average in every way.. ....except the coach, he has a winning culture.. ..it's more than just wins and losses.. ..even he is 'fails' here, MM will go down swinging.. ..complacency is rife in the club.. ..hopefully piece by piece we can sort it out.. ..i'd have rather we did it from top down off field, but on field is better than nothing.. ..as is typical of our club the last dozen years, we have to do it the hard way..

Winning culture requires winning gameplan

Hmmm ... If the outcome of a winning culture is losing ... then it is not a winning culture.

The whole point of having a winning culture is winning!

I am all for positive change ... and if the Madhouse can somehow get us back up the ladder to at least where we were in 2011 (when we had a less talented squad) I would be very happy.

Time will tell. Roll on 2015.

Winning culture went out when the 'tank' was accepted. The end!
