Great pic warby!

I wish I was in Melbourne for those days, only ever saw the Bluebirds on a crackly TV.

Love the 6-digit phone number.

What is the year of that pic? Is it the 70's?

Yes Jar; it is a great pic....it is in fact the back cover (nearly A4) of the "Carlton Year Book '81".

I scanned and reduced it so I could post it on the site.

I recall too that The Edelsten owned Sydney Swans were sponsored by Tetley Tea and coached by Tommy Hafey.

And so it was that their dancing girls (The Swanettes) became derisively known as "The Tetley Teabags".

The thing is that the Bluebirds were just a part of the almost carnival atmosphere at Carlton games in that period of 78-88; when we played in the Finals for 11 consecutive years.

What we'd give now for players like Fitzpatrick..Bosustow..Sheldon..

Wayne Johnston..Ditchburn..Hunter..Doull..Maylin..Ashman..Perovic..

Jim Buckley..Rod Austin..English..Glascott..McConville..Marcou..Harmes..

MacLure; and that's just part of the '82 Premiership squad!

We were all powerful; arrogant; and we were winners!

Bring it on again!

In that case, your mum ROCKS!

I'm not going to make any "yummy mummy" jokes either. Yet.

I'm pretty sure I've got a record of the Bluebirds singing a cover of a hit song of the time....ask your Mum about it!
