Some good thoughts there Locke.
CFC has to create an aggressive, mobile CHB. Hopefully if will comne from either Saddington, Carlos and maybe Waity. It would be nice to have someone we can pencil in every week to establish some stability.
I'm thinking Saddington and Whits might swap around between HF and HB, depending on who we are playing and the the form of Deluca. I'm guessing Livo, Thornton and hopefully Harlett will start to fight it out for the key post on the last line.
I would love to be able to release Lappo to the forward line to support Kouta, Waitey, Whits, Fev, Fish, Eddie and Deluca.
I honestly think Fisher, Deluca and French are our wildcards in 2006.
19-22 games from these guys could mean the difference between a few and alot of wins. If Fisher gets that 4th defender he could be in for a 40-50 goal season. Likewise Lappo's smarts up forward could see him kick 40-50 against the 4th best defender.
If French can get a rest from time to time during a game through the use of Bryan or McLaren we will do well and he should last 22 games.
Deluca has the size, speed and mobility to stretch the defenders. Fingers crossed he has a big preseason and plays most of the year as a tall marking option up forward. If Deluca can get some aggression and consistancy into his game he frees up Whits and Waite.
One training session and I'm good to go.
I'm beginning to love the period between the 1st Training day and the first Practice game. Anythings possible now.
