Michael Malouf was on SEN late yesterday afternoon, and was asked why the club had not de-listed Camporeale, he answered that a player had to de-list himself. Work that one out.

When asked whether there was any chance of Camporeale staying, he responded "No".

Think that sums up the motivation for keeping Camporeale on the list until the last possible moment.

Caught that also JW. He didn't make it too hard to read between the lines.

When any of Fev, Whits and Lappin were in the media with regards to trade or contract negotiations, the club (and Pagan) made it known (or at least stated) that all were required players. I still haven't heard anyone from the club remotely hint that they want Campo to stay.

Dwayne Russell just stated on 3AW that to nominate for the PSD, Camporeale has to nominate a price that is less than what Carlton offered.

Is this the correct ruling under the draft rules? 8)

Surely it would have to be a price that is greater than what Carlton offered.

Unless he hasn't put a price on himself to get to Essendon* this could be true, since the Scum wouldn't want to pay over the odds for a 30 year old.

Says will nominate for less than carlton's offer but he can set any price he likes.

Nick Stevens on 3AW: Fair chance that he has gone. Disappointing. Not much we can do about it. Enjoyed his wedding but no talk about him leaving the club. Good to see new faces at the club. Disappointed with his time trial but hasn't done much over break & expects to do better next time. Fitness levels of most of boys vey good, including Lance.

I remember reading an article/interview in the old "Blues News" about our "new recruit" Scott Camporeale after he first arrived in Melbourne.

He was a young Adelaide kid about to enter the big time and overawed by it all. (little did he know he'd play in a Premiership in that first year!)

He was a "Lift Mechanic" by trade and his nickname was "Sparky".

He's had a great and successful career; somewhat soured by his performances this season and his current situation but; he's certainly a lot better off now than he was then....so many players fail to even see out a season successfully under the pressures of today's AFL football.

When No.16 was in full flight; he was a joy to watch and a Carlton hero.

That why i think so many people on TC dislike Campo!.
He was a star player, who was respected by all Carlton supporters.
But when the going went tough, he pointed the finger and didnt accept the responsibility with his lucrative contract. It is hard to see a long servant of the club leave because of money but its harder to watch them play for the enemy.
As an ex Campo supporter, im happy he will be playing for Essendon* next year because we all know he is past his best and Essendons list isnt much better than ours!
