As an AFL Carlton Club support member have just received the following email:

Quote:
Thank you for your support in 2014 as a Carlton AFL Club Support member.

AFL Membership renewals won’t be delivered until mid-November but we didn’t want you to miss out on our Early Bird offer so we are giving you the opportunity to have your say on which guernsey the Blues will wear in season 2015 and beyond.

To vote, simply clink on the link below and follow the prompts.

But follow the prompts and it doesn't actually let you vote, it's prompting you to take up a Carlton Membership.

So is it a genuine vote on a club jumper or just a membership drive in disguise?

:?

Did you make sure you clinked on the link? I don't think it works if you click it...

I already have full body armour and helmet on... but I prefer the newer logo.

I grew up in the glory days of the 70s, 80s & '95 and love(d) the logo.
And I grew up drawing 1000s of CFC logos over all my school books and folders, amongst other less disposable items (eg. furniture, walls etc...).
However, I think that the newer logo is more powerful and how I would have liked it to be growing up.

The problem is that we now associate the old monogram with great success and the new version(s) with terrible failure and a weak culture.
Unfortunately, I don't believe this will change by reverting to the old monogram.
I think the answer is to play better and build a strong culture - the positive association will follow.

Ok, now lay-in...

I have tried to vote and are unable to as i am not yet a 2015 member.
I rang the membership department yesterday on a different matter, and they were very helpful. I pay by monthly direct debit which commences on November 15th. The person told me if i wanted to vote now they could arrange for me to pay the first month in advance. I didnt bother as you still have 6 days to vote, it closes on November 21st.

If we have to have a "new" style logo then the notched version from the old 1980s logo is the way to go...

...we should never have lost the notches!

This.

I grew up with this logo on stickers, duffel coat patches and on my prized Carlton cap so it means almost as much to me as the logo on the Guernsey.

I like it, but why does Chris Judd play for the fourth planet out from the Sun? The AFL has interplanetary ambitions?

That's actually pretty good if you put your finger over the notch at the top of the F.

Would need a lot of fingers to cover the whole team though...

I had contacted Clinton Bown at the club about this issue he said their was a bug in the system and that they were working to fix it as quickly as possible so it would accept 2014 AFL Carlton Club support members votes.

He apologised for the glitch and promised to have it sorted as soon as possible, to his credit it was sorted and like you Seigfried I was able to vote early this morning.

Was thinking the same thing.
