Do fans of every club insist on trying to put their best forwards up back?

We already have Lappin and Houlihan down there.

Whitnall as a part timer.

Now Waite and FEV?

Can you see this team?

B: Lappin Fevola Houlihan
HB: Teague Whitnall Saddington
C: Scotland AB Stevens
HF: Fisher Waite Walker
F: Longmuir Livo(?) Simmo
R: French Kouta Carrazzo

Why do we want to play our best players up back? POther posters want to move Livo and thornton up forward?

[Please note T-Bird is a carlton club generated name]

People think our back line is crap and they want to fill holes with forwards. but forwards are different players. Sure, sometimes throwing a skilled byt wayward forward back is good for discipline. But the reason (one of many) why our defence get pumped each week is because our midfield is unaccountable. There is no chasing, manning, tagging (that can do it).

Please stop it with trying to play forwards up back. We'll never defeat anyone that way. Or are you all pro-tankers?

Do you see Alistair Lynch playing fullback at Brisbane?

No, but he played full-back at Fitzroy for many years, and was an all-Australian in that position. There's no doubt, that the experience made him a much better forward in the long run.

Exactly the same applies to Fraser Gehrig. Played a lot of football as a fullback, before developing into a power forward in recent years.

I think the idea of playing Fev down back has some merit (although I enjoy seeing him play forward). Far better to keep your best players on the ground, and contributing in a different position when struggling in the original position, then sitting on the bench.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure that Fev actually played fullback for a year in the TAC Cup.

I remember that game Mickstar, I thought we'd found our new CHB. Problem is Fev wants to play FF - with fev its always been his head not his ability that is the problem.

Actually I change my mind, let Fev play the wizard cup at fullback to show everyone just how enthusiatic he would be playing that position. That is the only way we can really find out the answer to the question without impacting on our premiership season and player morale if it all backfires as it did a few times this season.

When you say he is a natural forward do you mean he can only play in that position
The year the fev played in the magoos in 2002 he played mainly in defence and did ok.The fact is megaman if Pagan is served up with the same crap Fevola put on display in the second half of the year something else will have to be done.

If he turns in a shit year with little excuse I don't think the best option would be to get him to dabble in the back line. Rather I would prefer to trade him off to the highest bidder before we decreased his value further. He's either going to fire up and decide he really wants to be a champion FF or disappear to another club, he won't all of a sudden decide FB or CHb is his calling.

Glad im not the only one that remembers that game Danny.Did he have a day out or what.Had the ball on a string and was officially credited with over 40 touches.A phenomenal effort at any level off halfback.Won a television or something didny he Danny..........But i reckon the forward line is the go for Fev all the same.Blokes who can slot em' through the big sticks are gold.Very hard to find natural forwards.

P.S.....You and all your gang get off Lances back until at least the new year OK Dan the Man............chuckle,chuckle........more chance of hell freezing over.
