 Well that's not true!

The session was an idea by Steven Trigg because he's sensed (and he's right) a large disconnect between the club and its supporters - so it was pretty much a brainstorm strategic session to make sure the club is heading in the right direction - from a leadership and culture perspective to a branding perspective and where the improvement and focus will be in 2015 and beyond.

There will be greater feedback requested by the supporters - and you'll see some evidence of that in the next week (week and a bit). Better match day experiences and better communication. Can't go into too much more detail I'm afraid - suffice to say that the club is listening and trying and I'm confident that they'll get it right.

Ta Doc, coteries represented?

Major positives coming dane-o...not all of them in 2015...but the club recognises the mistakes of the past and is building towards being a top club on and off-field in 2016-2017. You have to put yourself in a position to do that first and that's what's happening at the moment.

That's good news Doc, because one of the things that has really bugged me in the past is that the only people with any say seem to be those with cash, or those people that know people with cash.

My only concern is that the board looks to be staying as it. That's not ideal in my eyes. I couldn't gleen whether there was anyone putting their hand up this year...but there won't be a challenge.

So what is the blueprint to us "being a top club on and off-field in 2016-2017" ?

They said they were well short of the 1500 so I bought the lot.

Forgive me being cynical Doc, but we have heard it all before. We need to walk the walk. And "match day experience" would be greatly improved if we played like a top side and not a 13th best side. And unless we kidnap the Hawthorn bus and hypnotise their players to play for us, we have no chance of being a top club in 2016/7.

The committee is essentially the same group of super rich, out of touch, bad decision making dilettantes who have ensured our continuing mediocrity, until we ween ourselves off the billionaire factions and move on from the Pratt and Mathieson cartels how are we going to change? We need significant change on the committee to get significant change at the club.

There are just some things that never change.

Ga thinks that the board is the problem and until they are gone nothing will change. I would argue that they have been part of the problem but really it has been the football department that sucked.
There has been a fair bit of legacy ordinaryness in the FD. But i have faith. In mick to set the example and turn around the fd. It is i hope half done. With a fd that is functioning well, the board can do what they like as they shouldnt affect the onfield performances.
Mick has already shown his influence i believe with last years successful trading period. The signs are good.

Spot on and couldn't agree more. The club is full of shit. Judge them by what they do not what they say.

If the heat wasn't on Essendon* right now you can bet your life we wouldn't be flying so far under the radar!

Time for our President (and other Presidents) to make a long overdue stand on what is going on at Essendon* and in particular this mooted Ryder deal. Call it for what it is ... draft tampering. It's endangering the value of our second round pick and could well be impacting our ability to get the Jaksch deal done.

Stand up Mark!
