SEN rumour this morning - Graham Wright to Carlton. Signed, sealed, delivered.

This rumour won't go away...

Makes a bit of sense. Rogers is desperate to be list manager. I don't know if that role was promised to him as an inducement to stay when all this originally blew up, but he wants the role badly.

We are still chasing the wrong people. The list manager we need is at North ... Cameron Joyce ... has performed superbly at a club run on the smell of an oily rag.

Carlton on hunt for new list manager

Quote:
Carlton's much scrutinised recruiting department is thin by industry comparisons, and one insider said Pelchen would likely be taking a step down if he accepted a list management role at the Blues and walked away from the all-encompassing post he holds as St Kilda's head of football.

The same source speculated, however, that if Carlton's offer to Wright was a guide, Pelchen could end up earning more money in a new setting, while having less responsibility

Why wasn't this sorted earlier

The trade /free agent period is nearly upon us :banghead:

Don't hire someone that would leave their club before the draft and trade period.
Don't want that sort of person

Do you expect any other club to let their list manager or recruiter walk before the draft? That's why it wasn't sorted.

That article mentions a recruiting officer named Glenn Elliott. Is he the ex Stkilda / Melbourne player ?

Dermott Brereton said this about Pelchen last year. "There are a lot of myths in footy, and we're talking about one of them." "Chris wants to make sure of his job at St Kilda because I guarantee you the word has gone around, he wont get another one elsewhere."

If they give Pelchen the gig the club will implode.

Agree. Worst decision we could make.

What is disappointing is we are heading into another draft/trade period and still no changes to an under resourced and incompetent Recruiting & List Management department.

Will things ever change?

Why in heavens sake would you bring in someone now? Far too late. Best to bring in someone just after this trade/draft season is over.
