Got the boxed trifecta. Wouldn't have paid much of a dividend.

Curnow unlucky. Bad break.

Knew Judd would be top 10. Thought he'd do slightly better but not surprised given his strong performance once back.

This is how the voting system works according to the football website...and I had to read over it a few times to half understand it.
If this was the case wouldn't Gibbs have obtained more than 108 points?

"Each member of the match committee may award a maximum of 20 votes per game. The votes are shared among the players of their choice, up to a maximum of eight players.

The committee members are not compelled to award all or any of their votes.

The maximum votes a player may receive is 10 from each committee member per game, therefore a maximum of 50 votes per player per game from the entire match committee."

Surely there is a simpler way they can award votes?

Surely you want those that attend to have some real understanding of how much each vote is worth...this is all mumbo jumbo.

How about 5/4/3/2/1 for the best five players per game. The match committee pool their votes and who ever gets the most gets five votes for the match, 2nd best gets four...having individual totals for match committee members does my head in.

It was five coaches giving 3-2-1 votes. Pretty simple.

Hatred is the wrong word. Highly overrated footballer more accurate. Had his good games...had his shockers. A top 10 finish probably reflects where the clubs list is at.

Well done Doch, 9th off bugger all pre season, what a gun this kid will be. Ditto Daisy, too. New recruit Everitt another pleasing result. Our recruiting and development (hi Sam Rowe!) is getting better, we should celebrate that.

So rapt for Yazz and Rowe to finally have a top 5 B and F finish.
The penny has well and truly dropped for Yazzamatazz. He will be something very special for years to come for us.
And as for Rowe, well, what a great effort for him to come from where he was. Im not talking about the Cancer either, as I don't think this situation should define him. I mean, for him to come from basically being on the scrap heap and on our list purely as a back up forward/ruck, to turn out to work himself into being a more then competent key defender ensconced in out starting 18. He now has the sell confidence in himself to take his footy to an even higher level from hereon in.
If more naturally talented guys like Garlett and Waite had even a 10th of this guys work ethic and dedication off the field, they d both be superstars of the comp now.

GIBBS!

While the three new recruits being in the top 10 says a lot about our past recruiting, can we at least look at the positive that perhaps now our recruiting, or list management at least, is on the improve?

Congratulations GIBBS!

Too bad about those metrosexual patches on your shoulders.
No b&f winner this year IMO.

If you had told me at the start of the year that Rowe would be in the Top 5 of the B&F,
I honestly would have called the psych ward to admit you.
That is such a phenomenal achievement.
What a great story!

Also,
I think the other big story here is that Yarran has turned the corner, when a couple of years ago I was starting to worry about him...

And also the recruitment of Everitt an Docherty has panned out all right.

All of these things reflect well on the coach I think, and maybe Mckay has earned a bit of credit too (?)

I am very happy for Bryce.
In my mind this is the best award he could win - our flag hopes were basically over by the halfway point of the season, yet he still lifted his game to another level and was consistently in our top 3 players.
He should be very proud of this achievement.

While I disagree with Doc's criticism of Jamison,
I don't think this was his best year by a long shot, and I think his polling may have been slightly generous.
But players with leadership qualities will always poll higher than their actual game output suggests.

,,,if we can snare a few more Shithouse recruits next year, play them in the pockets and wings like Docherty Everritt and Daisy and get them into the top 10 in the B&F we could be looking at bottom 4 next year dane...do they still hand out priority picks>?

You don't have to be old to be wise.
