Kept calmish through most of the day until it heated up in the last.

Calling them drug cheats loudly on repeated occasions got the expected reaction. Told them to get used to it because they're going to be hearing it for the next 50 years.

But the best came when I yelled out to Jobe that he'd better start polishing his Brownlow because the AFL wanted it in pristine condition when he gave it back.

Twenty dark faces turned from rows in front to glare at me.

Exceptional work, you spoke for many of us, I salute you. :thanks:

A blues supporter with both parents Bombers fans, now that IS brave.

My dad this morning: "Did Murphy play?"

Me: "Don't think so."

Dad: "Did Carlisle play?"

Me: "Walker wasn't playing so we didn't need a stepladder."

Had progress though, my dad reckons that Dank and Hird should both be taken to the Tower of London and up in the rack until they admit what they gave the players.

I said it beggars belief that a club that would know exactly how many km players have run, know exactly what they're eating and have beep tests and skinfolds recorded for years wouldn't know what they were injecting into players. No argument :)

We don't care if we lose anymore, as long as there is a better draft pick at the end of the loss.

Jake Carlisle to the Blues.

Watson, Waite, Lucas

Very touching to see the Essendon* players allow Mathew Watson play well yesterday - Essendon* Grammar boy and familiar with the Fletcher family.

jake pull a hammy apparently during the wee -couldnt play.

Amzing how Gibbs took nearly 20 seconds to kick that ball from 50m - enough time for evey Essendon* player to get back into the goal square.

And yet Gibbs's kick fell short and the only player that went up for the mark was Watson, who dropped it - Watson couldnt spoil the pre planned draw could he. And Watson couldnt inflict a loss on Essendon* - HIS next employer.

our game plan has to change. All year kicking the ball to opposition, kicking the ball to statinary players, opp having open fwd line scoring easy goals,we need to defend all over the ground,we have to get quicker and stronger for 2015. Anyway bring on the draft now and go doggies.

This year has left a bad taste in my mouth as I think it has with most supporters but I believe there has been a turning point in terms of our efforts, application and 'culture'. Our last 8 weeks have been very encouraging, it's taken a long time but I think were on the right track... Missing on the weekend from the 22 were Murphy, Walker, Henderson, Kreuzer, Thomas, Everitt, Buckley, Garlett, Robinson, Ellard... At least 7 of those are in our best 22.. In the Past that would have been an excuse for mediocrity for our players, but Mick is turning that around along with a developing a much more suitable game plan that suits the players but is good defensively as well... With that in mind, the draft and trade periods, the improvement from some of our players, I'm quite excited about the future tbh.. List management will be interesting over the next couple of years but I think we have a pretty good core of young and senior players... I'm cautiously optimistic about 2015 and if we can keep healthy minds and list, who knows what can happen. Its a tough competition ATM let's remember that but I think finals is a good target to aim towered for next season..

Sucks that Gibbs thought there was 3 minutes left when he had the shot.

That alone tells me that the off field strategies need to sharpen up, and stop blaming the players.

It is not just the Gibbs shot but lots of incidents in close ones this year and last year and the year before that.

As soon as Gibbs got the ball, it should have been reflex from the bench to have the runner out there...or pass on the message by strong voice relay across the ground. That would have taken all of 10 seconds whilst Gibbs was walking back.

Then there's the opportunity of taking the ball over the line for the lead by either Watson punch or Wood 'try'. The boys didnt have an idea of the time left but the off field staff did. Were they asleep.

Little areas of improvement ie 1%ers could have given us another 4-5 wins this year.

We should bounce back up the ladder next year whether Waite Robbo or Garlett are with us or not.

I was proud of the boys in the end...a tad disappointed but not filthy.

Great effort by the boys yesterday, undermanned against those brave Bombers.
I hope we learn from our mistakes this year, so many close losses due to silly mistakes.
Brendan Goddard is as soft as butter, went down like he had been shot.
A win would have been great but a draw is better than losing, drawn games have a really strange feel afterwards.
Bring on 2015.

yep, Bondi, good thoughts.
I reckon we'll be playing finals next year.
I have Tiger envy.
I wish we were travelling to Adelaide for finals.
I wanted us to win sooo badly just to make those cheats travel.
Didn't entertain it until the last quarter of course, and then to miss it by a bees dick was horrible.
roll on Blues 2015!

..well, a dip down the ladder ought to give us a favourable 'rigged fixture' next season, right..?..
