I hear you on 'represent the club' blue girl, BUT, Stevens deserved all he got.

He is there with a Ch 7 camera on him to make HIM the story. He repeatedly made long winded statements that whilst usually go through the keeper, were rightly called on.

Most of the discussion this morning on the footy shows had it as a win for Mick and a big slap for Stevens and Ch 7.

I agree at times Mick needs to soften, but really, your sides just been flogged and you have to deal with "journo" making themselves the story?

Agree...those aggravated by MM in this situation are seeking the same story 7 and the HS are looking to create

And we have no idea what we are actually watching which makes it even more staggering.

Forget about the press conference; focus on the possible Higgins recruitment.

With 10 top 10 picks on the list says it all

And you don't think we may have recruited the wrong players?

It's not the top 10 picks that are the issue really (it's only 9)

Murphy, Judd, Gibbs, Henderson, Yarran, Walker (at times) have all been worthy

McLean, Thomas (injured), Kruezer (injured) a questionable

Its our inability to pick when the choice is more complex. Highlighted by our continued reliance on 4-6 rookies every game

Other than the game every week, you'd be crazy to watch anything else

Crap excuses.
Have a look at the 5th placed team. 9 players this week who were Pick 70+ or rookie/pre-season selections.
The top team has 7.

Good coaching panels get the best out of the list at their disposal. They don't wait to acquire the best list.
Our senior and VFL teams had 12 scoring shots to the oppositions 40. We were uncompetitive.

Who cares about reporters. Micks a joke to the media and mark stevens was taking the piss out of him. Stevens showed him no respect.

So we get pick 6 or 7 this season, Next season we get about the same.

Mick will deliver us some good draft picks and the next coach will take us to the finals. We can all sit back and thank Mick for getting us those draft picks and call it a successful appointment. Value for money.

Totally out coached against Port, Carlton brought the effort, but Hinkley teared Mick's gameplan to shreds in the 1st qtr and the game was over. Amazing how good Port have transformed in to a power house from being a bottom 3 side two seasons ago. List hasn't changed much at all. Only one thing has changed though :)

Yep, a team with zero injuries pushing for a top 4 position beating the team sitting in 13th and missing 6 of their starting 18 comes down to coaching.

Embarrassing for the Journo you mean. Mick made him look stupid. There is nothing wrong with how Mick approaches his pressers. I'm glad Carlton actually has a coach that has the balls to stand up for himself and this team, rather then just sprout out meaningless stats and dull cliches.

Good onya Mick.

There was a time not so long ago when there was nothing better than going to watch Carlton play when they were riddled with injuries.
It was backs to the wall stuff and you knew yhe youngster's would get in and have a go abd usually win.
Now they chuck in yhe towel play for free kicks abd generally make excuses as to they lost

Quote:
SADLY, very sadly, Channel Seven has hijacked the AFL after-match press conferences and set up a terrible sideshow with Carlton coach Michael Malthouse.
Not satisfied with having first rights to interview AFL coaches and players after a game, particularly on Friday night, Seven now has begun dictating terms on the “fifth quarter” sessions with the coaches that were once reserved for print journalists then invaded by radio stations (that never send a commentator to ask a question) and now reaching ruin with Channel Seven.
