Also forgot to mention that Bumbers were penalized for salary cap breaches

Slobbo (on AFL360 tonight) has firm established and identified that Carlton and Adelaide were guilty of salary cap breaches, one of the fundamental key rules in AFL.

No worries Slobbo, thanks for identifying these shit stains of football clubs.

Let's hope the shit stains in your own underpants isn't stopping you from smelling what has gone on at Essendon**.

He is a flower disgrace.

Astonishing that he's forgotten Essendon*'s salary cap breaches, draft tampering and systematic doping.

Along with pretty much every other club.

We just happen to be the poster boys for salary cap rorting. The perception/reality of the Judd/Visy deal hasn't helped.

Meh......................

At the end of the day, Im just glad Sticks and Swann have gone.

We needed change desperately, and we've got that now.

Time will tell if these blokes are the right ones for the job, but at least we've had change cause we were going backwards fast!

If Trigg can get us to the MCG as our playing venue then I will be very happen.

It will be the first step to building a solid foundation to build the club from.

Ye, I was there a few years ago and was lucky enough to catch the pilot of a show called Gilligan's Island on their local network.

Trigg is a quality appointment. High quality business nous.

Given where we are as a club, it is vital to have AFL endorsement.

That's absolute bullshit. Why do you need AFL endorsement? Like the AFL do a @#$%&! great job!
Another @#$%&! stupid appointment. A suck hole who has one objective here - getting a job at AFL House.

MLG response on 360 tonight when quizzed about why it was imperative that the CEO selected had to be AFL endorsed was concerning also, he basically had no answer to the question, was actually quite cringe worthy to be honest....

Wow a global search and all he has to do is shift our games to the MCG! I never would have thought of that & certainly not 10 years ago when presented with the option of either moving to the MCG or the Dome.

A wasted appointment and yet another reason not to buy a membership next year.

mmm, very balanced.

Perhaps you've overlooked that the AFL do the fixturing of games!

Any chance we have of moving to the MCG needs to be AFL endorsed.

Any chance of getting fair amount of interstate travel needs AFL acquiescence.

Any chance of getting reasonable TV exposure needs AFL endorsement.

Gentle push back against AFL can only happen when the AFL "like" you, try pushing back against AFL when you are out of favour.

Carlton no longer have influence simply based on power or prestige, we need to be "in" with the AFL to gently shift our standing.

Trigg gives us hand in this argument.

MLG knows all of this. It simply can't be said on shows like 360.

So what is the head of the commission doing to help us these days?
I've been waiting for a so called ex-Carlton legend's support for a very long time now.

Well said OR...I'm a little concerned re: Trigg's commercial nous and he certainly wasn't the candidate with the better record in this regard but the bloke with better commercial nous on the shortlist might have got wineselectors.com as an individual sponsor and that wouldn't have gone down well at AFL House.

We need Big Cox as well

That's 2 syllables.

For what it's worth I've been told that when it comes to the Lions and their CEO selection they were given a list of five candidates by the AFL and told to select from that list.

It's just a reality of the way this comp is run that the AFL fingers are in most pies.

Let's see how Trigg goes.

It was indeed.

Notwithstanding OR's explanations for why the Trigg-AFL relationship is beneficial if MLG wants to use "AFL endorsement" as a knock out punch explaining Trigg's appointment he now knows he needs something to back that up. Regardless of what he says, it needs to be said with authority.

We've been told MLG has had media training, so I'm happy to cut him some slack, but he still has some homework to do. I'm sure he'll get better in this regard.
