Wasnt it good to see them use the ball .To kick it to the spare man not be afraid to switch accross feild and wait for the option to present rather than just kick the ball down the line.
Think they may have been some discussions during the week as this was totally different to the way we played all year.
There were still a lot of mistakes and costly turn overs but they should have won this game by 50+
Lets hope that they keep trying to play this way and dont revert to that kick it down the line contested footy again.
Just need to use the corridor more and we are nearly a football side again

Really?

You have very low expectations.

Wood failed as a ruckman and also as an option around the ground in the packs and outside.

I think the one thing you have failed to take into account is that it was Wood's first AFL game in two years and the game itself may have changed a little bit, which will require some adjustment on Cameron's part, or is it just easier to can him, just briefly looking at his stats 10 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles and one of those was running down boomer Harvey, I think you are being a little unfair on the bloke in his first game back, let's wait and see what happens before putting a fork in him.

they sure came along way from your prediction of seeing something similar to what happened v North in 2003 when Pagan was coaching.

good call that.

Heartened by the fact that North challenged and did not get their nose in front & we responded.

Had high hopes for Warnock (and obviously so did the match committee) but he has been dead set woeful the last month and a bit.

Opposition clubs were playing against 17 players and a flagpole so bad was Warnock.

It felt like we had a semblance of a ruckman in Wood.

The most glaring weak link last night was Thomas. My fear is that this is his level of output.

Well done Blues on bouncing back given the smashing last week.

Ps let's not win too many games from now on!

Is it any coincidence that with no brock, carrazzo, walker, all high possession getters but masters of the kick-hope and turnover ball, there seemed to be a lot more possession with purpose....

He was certainly hidden in the pockets.

I'm prepared to give him time. Coming off massive injuries and a couple of seasons out is pretty massive.

He shouldn't be playing 1's. Needs to play out the season getting back to basics(under no pressure) in the 2nds - and getting his body right.

Would have much preferred a top pick.

Been a hugely disappointing season. No getting around that fact. There has been some positives though and I'm the first to admit that I need to recognise those more.

I know where we are at but winning feels good. Had much more energy on the morning run today

Not sure what next year holds, but I reasonably confident our future looks better than Norf, tiges, Bombers.

Good to see the team finally put 4 quartets of team footy together. Not getting carried away, hope the boys can learn from this. Still poor at the kickins.

Highlight for me was Curnow fixing up that arrogant prick Harvey!!

I flicked it on and the crown was booing Majak Daw when he took possession?

What was the deal with that?

I'm hoping he hit someone during the games and that wasn't anything else?

Rape charges.

The North crowd booed Judd all night so i think Carlton supporters returned the favour, gave it to Harvey too.

How good is it to wake up on a Saturday morning after a win?
We all have a spring in our steps, the radio is on, replays to be watched.
Life is good.

Wins on a Friday night are especially enjoyable. You can feel good for the whole weekend.

Wood got smashed in the ruck.

His around the ground work was slightly better than Warnock. Inside work the same if not worse.

Even result at best. That is being generous.

You're joking, right?
You haven't posted much but your sense of humour looks OK.

you serious?

supporters were booing because of the charges??

thats putrid
Rape charges.

I'd say that was what they were booing. People dont like rapists and at the footy dont like the opposition so an end result is people booing a bloke up on rape charges playing for the opposition. Id wait to see if he was found guilty myself although i did use to boo Milne when i wore a younger man's shoes.

Commentators kept saying that this was the first time this year we beat a team in the 8, but wasn't West Coast in the 8 when we beat them? Sorry, could be wrong.

great win guys. I think we fielded one of our best teams of the year as well. No Walker or Carrots turning the ball over in the backlines.

But i don't quite see how we can play Hendo / Waite and Levi in the same team?

Hendo is a tough one. Brilliant up forward but so important down back. Why can't he be a twin?

Ryan, I couldn't see a problem last night all 3 took their turn at being the hit up player up the ground and it appeared to me that Levi's job last night was to be a bit of a decoy up forward and back wood up in the ruck, we were able to split the North defence and give one on one opportunities to our forwards because the defenders had to be real careful about dropping off their man as all three are good strong marks, I thought it worked well and Levi's stats don't reflect the job that Mick asked him to do last night.

Fully agree, especially regarding Levi. Dare I say MM out coached Scott?
