Can there be a new board, called TalkingRumours, where everyone who has "an inside source", or "heard from a player", or "I know a guy who shagged a girl who shagged a guy who shagged a girl who's sister is the best friend of the younger step-cousin of Lance Whitnall's godfather"

I'm sick of all the bullshit posted in the main board posted as "fact". At least with a Rumours board, all the "sources" can get together and have one big happy, name-dropping circle jerk and get the validation they so desparately need.

I think I know someone who knows this girl who might be able to ask this question directly.

KK that's what a lot of footy forums are about. You just have to use your own discretion to decide if you believe them or not.

Actually, it's not. Footy forums (fora?) are for the intelligent discussion of the team and tactics, directions etc, not baseless inuendo and rumour, and the need to make one's life seem worthwhile by dropping the "fact" that you're "close" to someone "very high up on the board" and one-upmanship like that.

That's what BigFooty is.

Yeah you are right KK it is intelligent discussion here that's why you can spot the bullsh!t artists from a mile away. This site runs ok IMO, better than what TBV did.

Read what I actually wrote, TheGame, not what you wanted to read.

I said the forums Should be a place for intelligent discussion, not that it actually is.

I don't claim to be able to spot the bullshitters and be able to separate them from the genuine posters, but it gets really, really, really, really, really, really boring reading the same crap over and over, all based on nothing.

So, those posters should be confined to their own baseless rumours board, so the intelligent discussion can take over, and that TC doesn't get mired in swill.

That's a very good point, and I am grateful for that.

It's not as simple as asking people to write things you want to read KK. Would be great if it was that easy. Either we're inclusive of everyone with internet access, or we start setting up a new site with selected, or invited, access. I can't see that happening, nor do I wish to see that happen. The forum will always have its good and bad aspects and will survive as long as people continue to post here.

No, that's not what I'm asking for. Although, in an ideal world, people would only post things I want to read

I was more referring to this plague of "people in the know" starting threads, rumours, side-tracking fairly good discussions, etc.

IMO, this is sidetracking the fact that we all are Blues supporters, and there has been a lot of division and spite lately (Yes, even more than usual)

Maybe we need a "bullshitometer" in each person's bit at the side of their posts, just as it has the warnings, it would read something like "Kaptain Kouta, Warnings: 0, bullshitometer 3/10", meaning that people could report crap to the mods, and the mods could change peoples' bullshit ratings accordingly.

I think Kallan and Ballistic Blues would be asked to leave the site after their Bullshitometers exceed their limits.

But they wouldn't be banned from posting, it would just be a warning to those who read their posts, that they should take what they read with a dose of salt.
