Desperately need to get this right need someone who is going to implement transformational change stand up to all the factions and egos on the board
Someone who is commercial smart and from a non football background who will be independent and credible but doesn't want to interfere in football matters

Concerned that we are going to get a person who will toady to the present strong vested interests

Plenty of good people around if they look hard enough
Key question is whether the board actually want this sort of independent person and are threatened if someone advocates this transformation change which will challenge the existing order
Board need to make brave choice not a safe one
Recent experience suggests they will go the safe choice because they think this will make their board seats secure

Shouldnt be with us
Imagine having footy manager McKay and CEO Prenderghast where is the commercial acumen where is the c-suite experience
Where is the independence of thought where is thought outside the football world that is desperately needed
We get rid of Carlton ex player as President and replace him with a former Carlton player without CEO Experience in business
AFLPA overlooked Prenda as CEO when he was acting in the job why on earth would we then make him CEO

AFLPA haven't exactly got a great track recording when it comes to selecting CEO's, "The Spew" didn't even make the short list for an interview, until he had a sook to a close friend who had the ear of the AFLPA Board.

While neither McKay nor Malthouse were not consulted about Swann's departure last week, McKay has confirmed he was a candidate for the CEO’s role along with former Australian Olympic Chef de Mission Nick Green, Fairfax Radio general manager Shane Healy and Western Sydney Wanderers boss Lyle Gorman.

Yes we had reservations then about Healy but Clayman knows him better than anyone so he may know the insider trading
At least he has commercial experience as opposed to McKay
Maybe given ordinary ratings of AW football and the amount he is paying some of them perhaps he is looking to get out
