I guess the positive is we don't land another former Collingwood player, and we're having a decent crack at doing things properly...

Blues fail in bid to get recruiting manager Graham Wright
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-05/b ... wright-bid

Quote:
CARLTON appears to have failed in an audacious bid to snare Hawthorn's list manager Graham Wright as the Blues try to revive their on-field fortunes.

AFL.com.au understands a board member was behind the approach to the Hawks' recruiting guru, which was initially made without the knowledge of key officials at the Blues.

...oh, and we have a well-oiled machine at the board table.

FFS. Whilst I would be happy with Wright to have Board members running around of there own is not good.

A question. Would that be to replace Rodgers or McKay or a new position?

Imagine the stupid amount of money to buy his contract.

imagine if we did it the right way and waited for our new CEO being involved - amateur hour and does our credibility no good in the football community :banghead: with some rogue director trying to pinch key people from other places

They also could have all been on board and the approach was to sound him out (being contracted & all). Sorry, it was only a rogue board member not the company policy to make approaches to your contracted staff. Sorry, Hawks.

Was the board member Jeannie Pratt? Did she think she was signing up a new member? She was in charge of membership, wasn't she...

If the headline read that Graham Wright was leaving Hawthorn and going to Richmond; the club would be criticised for not going after the best in the business.
doubt Rogers will be happy though
