Mick didn't seem all that pleased that Swann was leaving.

What's Peter Daicos doing with himself?

His hair would be a wonderful addition to our front office.

I'm very supportive of Mick being the coach. I will quote him here... "let the baker bake the bread'.

Mick's got enough on his plate getting this list up to speed without worrying who the CEO is. He's doing a good job, he's got nothing to worry about.

He said if Swann wasn't @ Carlton he wouldn't be. But said he is a servant of the board and Swann's departure won't have any bearing on his future (in terms of what Mick can control).

Isn't Mathieson selecting our new CEO?

You're an easy marker Punter. MM was brought to the club and excepted the job to get us to a possible flag in three years, while Judd is still here. He is nowhere near it at this stage, and while he'll certainly never take any responsibility for his own failures, he is looking as ordinary as his team at present. Swanny and Sticks leaving gives me hope Mick will follow at the end of August 2015.

gerry, If you think this list is capable - or was capable at any point - of winning a flag, we're watching a different team play every week. Just because people misread the list 18 months ago doesn't change the capability of the list.

I think he's got a number of success stories now among the playing group re: improvement, and I think the coordination of the team is also improving. He's not 10/10 but he's by no means a fail either.

Do you understand how silly you sound with this stuff?

Must be a weird feeling to be so driven by such a pointless agenda, or is it?

Well ... you see ... thats what forums are all about ... some fact ... some opinion.

This is my opinion as is the opinion of some others on this forum. I believe I am basing that opinion on fact.

I don't want to say your comments are silly ... but I dare say some might think so.

Nothing would please me more than to see Dr Strangelove succeed because then Carlton succeeds. IMO I think it was a dumb decision to employ him and I don't think he will advance Carlton to a premiership.

Swann has done an ok job ... but he was instrumental in getting Malthouse to Carlton ... so currently thats a big cross . I hope it turns into a positive.

That's fair enough, but the name calling and 150th repetition of it... that's the silly part. IMO, anyway.

blue wave.... unless malthouse is seen to have taken us backwards... and its deemed he hasnt atm... hes there for as long as he wants the job.
he has been given the task of restructuring the list....

and thats what hes going to do...

people thinking he will be gone after next year are kidding themselves...
he will be at the club for as long as he wants it.. or demonstrates hes taking this list backwards.

the list is at such a low base that nobody believes he will take it backwards except a couple of blokes in here... easily will have another 2 years bolted on to his current contract

he will be given the best support coaching team hes ever had here end of this year....

hamstrung with money problems
next year the mathiesons have pledged the best

i have to see it to believe it

i know the changes will be sweeping through scattering the old like autumn winds on fallen leaves
im unsure what will replace it all...

ive seen changes before

but that doesnt mean things get fixed...

i was commenting on mick... hes a required piece by the powers atm....

and im not sure why people are daft enough to think he will be gone end of next year
he will be gone if he has health issues or he wants to go.....

imagine of he didnt bring in daisy docherty and everrit...and we lost buckley walker and armfield?
wed have the slowest team of all time... because the previous guy was busy stocking up with one dimensional slow types
im pretty sure its obvious to everybody where were at..and what we were building towards.. and how the team is getting structured bit by bit....

I agree. We're perhaps not quite so capable of the very occasional flaky heights, as we were under Ratts. But to me it looks like we consistently work a lot harder, and the players actually believe in what we're doing. Been very impressed by the improvement of Rowe and Yarran and Buckley this year. Been impressed by the reprogramming of Robinson. Very, very pleased by the players we managed to trade into the club. Our list still has a long, long way to go, but at least we're showing some signs of improvement.

Credit for the improvement in Rowe/Buckley. Docherty done well, Everitt good given what was given up and Thomas still debatable. Injuries to Judd/Curnow/Kreuzer haven't helped. Looking at Robinson he still has the same deficiencies he had under Ratten.

Can't sweep under the carpet the performances against Essendon*, Collingwood and Melbourne.

Wins against STK, WBD, ADE and WCE.

Will be interesting to see how they perform with a tough fixture over the rest of the season.
