Good luck to him, 7 years is a good stint. However, I'm very excited for fresh ideas, and even more excited that they are being professional about it and engaging the services of a recruitment agency to find the best candidate.

Caro update:

"He is expected to be replaced at Carlton in the short term by football boss Andrew McKay with the club embarking on an executive search through recruiters Egon Zehnder, the company that was engaged by the AFL to replace Andrew Demetriou."

Wel, there you go. The club will actually embark on a proper search for a replacement. Andy McKay will be a busy man, still lots of players to sign up.
Thanks Swanny.

Dear recruitment company,

Please don't find Swann's replacement in the office next door ...

Geez, leaving before we have important players signed up. Gibbs, Yarran, Menzel the top ones.

Mckay certainly is left with a lot of responsibility.

Is this a worry for us ?

Get Steve Rosich from Freo - not that I think he would leave but IMO the best young innovative CEO in the AFL.

It may only be symbolic, but there's a clear path now for a totally new approach moving forward. If nothing else, even if he was pushed, thanks to Swann for giving the club that.

Holy Jeebus! I'd suggest the search for Andrew Demetriou's replacement was hardly 'best practice'...

And a football boss moonlighting as a CEO -- wasn't our problem with Swann that he got too involved in the football side of things at the expense of running the place?

Remember that time our president stepped in for the short term? Short term at Carlton means a very long time.
