This has been mentioned already in the "Marketing Opportunities" thread, so apologies for bringing it up again.

However, as someone who has two young boys, I found it a very tragic but touching story, particularly the decision of his parents to donate his organs.

I would hope that some of his obvious passion for Carlton rubs off on our players this year, and as Mark No3 mentioned in his post, that the club can honour his death in a meaningful way

It's a cruel world.
Condolences to the family.
I can't see any reason why one wouldn't be an organ donor.

I read this last night and, as I also have an 8yo son who looks a bit like the lad in the picture I couldnt help but be moved by the story. Poor little bugger!!!

Is it just me or has there been an abundance of sad news this week?

RIP little Brettie, your legacy will endure.

Go Blues.

I know its a personal decision, but it would be a great testimony to this kid if the club publicly encouraged our players, directors, staff and supporters to sign up as organ donors.

And without making too much of a song-and-dance about it, but giving it enough media attention to a)bring up our profile in the media and b) using it to highlight the desperate need for more organ donors, the players and staff could all be filmed signing the consent forms, and being interviewed about the life-saving reality of organ donation. Quotes like: "It's a shocking tragedy, but if just one life can be saved, then some good has come from this terrible adversity."

The press release writes itself, FFS!

You know what... He'd be happy seeing this. His fellow Blues fans mourning him and all the kids and teachers at his school wearing Blues colours...

God Bless Ya little man.

Rest in Peace...

Whilst not wishing to besmirch the memory of the poor young lad, nor to denigrate the lifesaving sacrifice made by organ donors, there would be a few blokes on our list that would make an excellent heart donor if a prized racing pidgeon was ever in need.
