Synners, slow down. Roos is proving with the dees changing the culture at a football club starts with the players running through the banner and the coach.

We fix our recruiting, commit to expenditure in development so we have a procession line of young players coming through, and it doesn't matter if Sticks or Koch is president. Our coach and players are taking care of their business, and we have players ready and waiting to come through and earn their spot.

I'm with Doc here and being positive. A few tweaks to a few departments, a few new faces and a few less faces at board level and we're sweet. Mick is slowly teaching our players mediocre and half-hearted isn't acceptable.

This is where I get off as far as Synbad is concerned....

If in your mind all is lost for this club, there is no turning back and our culture is shot, for the life of me, I cannot understand why you are continuing this prolific crusade of rapid fire, repetitious rants...

I cannot understand what it is any of this for you.. If get it, never never land an all that.. fine, why do YOU persist with it then..

For your own sanity, wouldn't life be more enjoyable for you to go and follow a club with the "right" culture like a Hawthorn, Geelong or Sydney and let the rest of us live in ignorant bliss in the hope that the sun will rise tomorrow and the mighty blues may one day reign supreme..

The club is in the wilderness forever, I get it... I still come back to TC to find out the ins and outs, how good the Buckleys and Menzels might be one day... that makes me happy... If this president is there or not, who knows, but he's new and I'm prepared to live and hope that his heart, mind and ambition is in it as well...

nah... gone!!!!

people talk about hawthorn

there was not as much as a flux in professionalism and money.. members etc.. pre ten years ago.. as to whats happened in the last ten .. and especially 5 years

some clubs have been left way behind.. were one.

our culture is so archaic its not funny
we were given picks..

we blew it with some really crappy people in important pillars

i know people get angry when i say weve fallen from the tree and will never get back up anywhere mear where we were.
just more denial...

whats happened in the last 10 years and especially 5.. means we have not built anything substantial
and others have... its catch up footy.. and were never going to catch up...
some teams are doing it great.. and some are falling furter off the pace...

yeah we might stiffen up... but we wont make up that lost ground

be as mad as me as you people like.. your footy club was once a titan.. and now a sick old man.

a blood transfusion of the same culture wont help that much.. it will have no sustainability
riddled in cancer culture

reminds me of the way you people attacked me when i was warning you this was happening....

sure in 40 years or 50 we might win a flag....

if u understand history.. youll know that this is the end of the line for us...
yes melbournes culture changed.. roos.. lol.. laughable
people thought tigers too

roos will get them to win one eliminational final also.....

big deal

the great divide is already apparent...

youre not going to get to the other side...

were on one side of it...
and the good clubs are on the other...
some of those good clubs might not be showing it on field yet.. but they have the other areas pretty stable
Port?
well port has a zillion sanfl premierships and have one in the first few years they were in the afl.. and that wasnt two decades ago
without ever coming last ... and winning a spoon.. they managed to draft a midfield while we have no mids coming through

think melbourne and richmond..
two teams bathing in their own pasts and sinking down the gurgler

tell me who thinks we WILL win a flag in the next ten years???

remember. no midfield coming through and a swag of players retiring...

just remember....
we might improve it under the mathiesons
and i think there will be a cleanout

but whos going to replace them?
how will we go through the correct processes
why do u think we will get it right?
and even if we do..... how right?
enough to win a flag by when?
in the meantime.. the competition moves on.. teams will be staking their claims to greatness
we will be forever looking on with jealousy.. and reminscing of times long past.. and passing further and further past.. memories fading of when we were titans...

in 10 years... and no way will we win a flag inside ten

its thirty years...
THIRTY!!!!

everything changes then.... people fall away
the club lost its edge a long time ago

culture changes
its hope not expectation now.. isnt it???

it is..!!!.. say the truth!!!

and mark is going to fix it....!!!

rightyo!!!

the draft penalties should have been the impetus that created a new afl carlton model
it shoud have kicked our arses back into fashioning out a new club.. a new modern afl club carlton
we didnt do it...
why?
because were carlton @#$%&! the rest!!!

were still carlton @#$%&! the rest... just wait..this time...... were gunna do it.. wait n see....

laughable.......

GO THE BLUEBAGGERS!!!...

a real exciting club ....

Gee am I depressed after all that..maybe your right Synbad, I've enjoyed the last 40 years of supporting Carlton but looks like we're never going to get out of this mess...is it time to give up and move on to another , better club...I live in Tassie so maybe Hawks would be more enjoyable to follow...your recommendation would be appreciated.

Beg to differ
final v North 1976 at VFL park.

Every champion player will make a mistake or have a bad game here and there.

McKay for the previous 5 years was spot on for a kid.

No we are too old to change.
But I doubt we will ever get those hard ons from football again.
At least to have loved and lost is better to not have loved at all...
But in serious.
This is an eighteen team competition.
Ideally every team should win one each eighteen years.
We have already seen a pattern that some teams go to the week repeatedly... Means it's not one in eighteen for each eighteen teams.
Throw in the kind of talent the two new teams have and is bleak for us starting a rebuild now.

Terrible planning...

Oh and I hate the suits around the club for destroying what I took for granted for every young carlton supporter... They wont see what I took for granted.
That's the thing that pains me most.
Six flags in a lifetime is better than average.
Being a Melbourne a Richmond a stkilda doggy supporter is soul destroying.
We had a chance... We blew it!

Dont take it serious.

We may have missed a cycle to give us our window, but we still have a good core group.
Add 4-5 A&B grade players to that and its a huge difference.
Could happen over summer.

Its time for a new assault on the flag and the first thing we need is a change from the past, with Sticks.
We're doing that and we just have to hope Mark wants to deliver badly.

Bondi don't give the guy false hope.. Lol

Let him be.., he doesn't really believe me....
But deep in everybody's heart they know I'm right...
Hard to swallow isn't it ?

That's how it happened with Fitzroy Melbourne Richmond Essendon* as well.
Somebody lost touch....
It happens

There is always somebody else working harder to get where you are if you take your eyes if the ball. When they get there they won't hand it back to you because you used to be top dog...
You just have to learn your not anymore... You'll be laughed at.. Kicked.. Humiliated...

Sounds familiar?

Synbad Is stating the obvious. The club is seriously dysfunctional, however synbad is not providing any solutions.

Synners, slow down. Roos is proving with the dees changing the culture at a football club starts with the players running through the banner and the coach.

Really? You want the players to run through the coach??

I pick Robbo. He'll do the most damage.

If you honestly think that things are so utterly hopeless on and off the field, and we're dead in the water never to return to where we once were, why bother supporting the Club ? Why bother posting the same negative bullcrap time and time again ?
Just turn your back on the Club, and walk away. Whats the use in continuing to 'support' a team that you think is a lost cause. It'll be an easy transition to rid yourself of this Club, as we're totally pathetic anyway, right ?
