As seen in this thread, a link to an article about some off season renovations at Princes Park. Towards the end was a comment about the hunt for new coaching blood.

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 43180.html

Quote:
…Coach Denis Pagan and football manager Grant Williams continue to look for one and possibly two additions to the existing coaching panel, after unpaid specialist coaches Wayne Carey and Justin Madden finished with the Blues this year. Either one full-time or two part-time coaches will join Pagan with a match-day requirement…

Time for us to speculate once again. 8)

Terry Daniher...might have been sacked from a few clubs but seemed to get the job done .

Smallest recruiting dept budget..you woud think we would spending a bit more in this area considering how important it is in our situation....no weights program first and now not enough being spent on recruiting resources.....not good enough.....best in the business use to be our catch cry....not anymore....

I wonder whether the new coaches will be allowed to teach their own thoughts & ideas or will they be just DP yes men & lackies??

TD has a good rep of getting wild child forwards focussed on football. Maybe he can get inside Crazy Joe's mind and turn him into an 80+ goals per year forward.

That's the thing isn't it. The board may want to add new coaching blood, but does Denis?

Buried in Caro's article about Swan and Hunter stepping down from the board is some further comment on the search for assistant coaches:

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 16291.html
Quote:
Changes and possibly a restructure were mooted for the football department with no one but the senior coach — who signed a three-year deal in March extending his tenure until 2008 — declared safe. But Denis Pagan pleaded for his assistants and all appear to have survived, as has the popular and promising football manager Grant Williams. The board has approved the appointment of two new part-time assistant coaches — one of whom will specialise in ruck work — or one full-time assistant who can cover both bases.

Seems as if Shaun Rehn may have been the ideal candidate. C'est la vie.

I hope we have some suitable talent in our sights.

Td has a good record and lets hope the saints regret sacking him.The word is that he lacks the technical nouse ,but i reckon he would know enough and he has excellent people skills

And go for primus as a ruck coach. If we can get him get him.

Craig Bradley would be great or Brett Ratten - both have great footy brains and bleed navy blue!
Nathan Burke perhaps[/b]

No ex Blue boys who had their noses put out of joint by Denis. It'd cause too much friction and I very much doubt Pagan would appoint them either.

Ashcroft, Daniher and Primus should be our main three targets.

Paul Hudson..... got turned down for the box hill gig and coached Leongatha to a flag this year.

But the real reason he is actually going out with my Sister In-laws housemate, so I'm thinking more about the inside gossip and freebies... :-D

Be happy with Ashcroft or Primus.

Time for Pagan, Ratten, Bradley and anyone else we might consider to put their pride to the side and do whats best for the club.

Ratten would be fantastic, but Primus is probably a better fit given the current make up of the coaching panel.

I still believe Scott Wynd should be approached as our ruck coach and either Paul hudson or Nathan Burke should be approached for the other role.

TD would be gold... as much as we hate him as a Bummer... he could play like very few, and he relates well to the Kids...

No Blues from the past 10 years thanks... We have been to insular for too long... Let's get some ideas from outside...
