McKay is really intelligent. Do I correctly remember instead of playing footy, he could have gone and done a doctorate overseas at a really exclusive uni like oxford or something?

I remember Sandy Roberts telling us while we were smacking the Brisbane Bears by a thousand goals ...

He's a vet who should have stayed a vet.

I don't get why Anderson would be such a bad candidate.

Given what Adrian has done for Cycling Australia in such a short amount of time - I concur.

Why?
He's very astute.
He might be the one to take a razor and slice where needed.
I guess some supporters might have thoughts of slicing their memberships, but hey..
can't please everyone anyone right now.

Tend to agree.

Other than the fact he seems to be a pin-headed flower, I don't mind that he would get up supporters' noses a bit, and tell them some truths they need to hear but have been avoiding for more than a decade, and then do something about the issues at hand.

If anyone has any doubts about AA being a CEO - take a look at the link in my above post. Having said that - he's not really linked with us and we don't know what month Swann will go....but he's definitely gone. My bet is July. In most organisations a sub-committee would have been formed at board level and they would have been sounding out potential candidates. Perhaps even employed external people to assist in the process. But this is Carlton.

I pictured more of a Pin The Tail On The Donkey type arrangement.

Anderson would be great as long as he is surrounded by a dynamic and united board. He is a dot the i's cross the t's type and will have the place working efficiently etc.

We then need a President and board that has visions, strength and the connections to make sure we they are all heading in the same direction.

Smart, business and legal savvy
Tick them boxes with aplomb
But, is he a footy natural, in so far as understanding recruitment requirements etc?
He won't be the recruitment manager but I think you want someone who is football savvy
Is he this?

Not sure if that's whats required.

It'll never happen, but what about Dunstall? Knows first hand how to rebuild a club, and he'd either get past all the bullshit and make it happen, or if he couldn't, he'd walk away and call the bullshit...at least then the football world would know what's really going on there.

Certainly would be nice if he was involved in a review of the club

Here's what Clarkson had to say about Dunstall at Hawthorn's B&F last year

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/c ... 2v2d9.html

Quote:
The Clarkson era has marked a return to power for the Hawks, who also won the flag in 2008.

''Tonight probably marks the full-stop to a guy who has had an enormous contribution at our footy club, and that's Jason Dunstall,'' Clarkson said.

''He's obviously been a very, very influential person around our club in terms of what he's done on-field.

''But for those who have been fortunate enough to have been in his presence over the last nine years, there would be so many, particularly at board level and [in] administration and coaching, who would acknowledge the contribution he's made off the field.

''He helped shape so many of the decisions in that period … which were so crucial to us being able to get ourselves back to being premiership threats.''

Dunstall would probably suit Brisbane, given he's from there.

We could always give his offsider Spud a shot.
