the positive i take is that the italian judge will perform better than sticks and any other current director...

so we have to give the judge the chance....

he was a 19 year carltonian so he has earned his stripes....

What exactly would the criteria be for anyone to perform worse than Sticks?

Accidentally contract the mob into redeveloping the Gardiner Stand?
Not read the fine print in an otherwise standard contract that somehow sells the club to the Cloke family for magic beans?
Appoint Robert Hughes as the club mascot?

A great idea for our new prez is to call a meeting at a function room somewhere, like on a wed night ,then he can introduce himself and open the floor for questions.(civilised manner).

..good idea, but which president has ever done that at any club?

Unfortunately, fans want success, a flag (maybe lots of flags)

Win flags = good president
Lose lots of games = bad president

Its a cruel heartless business, but the rewards are big

Earned probably not the right word there - but deserves a go. Has until the AGM.

And why would you do it on your wedding night?

The positivity in here is overwhelming

I reckon Mark will succeed, he may fail, but it won't be because he doesn't care or doesn't have the best interests of the Blues at heart.

Far too many on here willing to throw shit from the cheap seats, it's easy.

Step up and put up or........

Yep I'm biaised, I barrack for the Blues, I don't get off on bringing them down.

Mark is a successful businessman, can he convert his leadership & success into success for the Blues, time will tell but I'm willing to give him a chance, it can't get much lower!

Why? What indicates that he's anything but the new Sticks?

I think we're well within our rights to be wary of a guy who was parachuted into the position with no outlining to members from him as to why he is a proper person to be president.

That's an absurd statement. Im a 20-year member. Must be my turn next then, by that logic.

No-one is questioning his success, OR. The issue most have with him is that we simply don't know who he is. What's his vision for the club, aside from "win flags. Restore Carlton to our rightful position at the top of the table" sorts of motherhood statements? How will he achieve off-field success, and how can that be successfully integrated with developing on-field success?

I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, but you'll excuse me for being wary.

I had him pencilled in for Manager of youth development.

I totally understand KK.

Not for one second am I suggesting blind faith, that would be reckless.

But equally reckless, & more damaging, is the approach of several on TC who are slagging him simply because at this moment they don't know him nor his vision.

I know one thing about him... the members didn't vote for him

Nope I can't.

I'm ok to wait til after he takes charge.

others aren't.

People are different, so are their outlook on life.

time will tell, judge him on his actions not on unknowns

Cheers

listen u dont have to keep hearing im not a member... he it is its from me

im not a member

and hey there are thousands like me... thars why were on 45,000 members

scoff all u like.. but his job is to bring those thousands in the fold...

now where were we ???

wed like a vision before i take money away from buying cigars and give it to the club...

is this guy going to convince me and people like me???

well he wont be doing it by playing dead possum

he better come up with something about how to engage his grass roots....

because let me tell u something... listen to this very carefully....... u listening???.....

the club is going nowhere onfield for at least 5 years.....

so in the meantime how is this .. this... this silent man... going to convince me to join the fold...

not just me mind u.. please dont make the mistake youre talking to me here....

but the scores of thousands of other unsigned carlton people...

i dont have to give them my money... are u serious???
is there a law im unaware of??
will i die because i dont??
will my life be worse off??

no to the contrary my life might be enhanced

they should think about me and the others
i know they can say that synbad is a flower.. we can get others!!!
but why not claim me and another and another??

losing people like me.. and not worrying because there is someone else means

u add one u lose one.. ur the same... ur not reallly the same though youre going backwards.., because as u stay the same... the good clubs are pullinga way even more...

i dunno what u know about real life... but thats going backwards...!!!

you see how easy this all this???
