Add repeated comments about Sausage Sizzles and Book Tours and you've got your trifecta of unfunny jokes past their use by dates.

Watching this carlton team underperform in the basics of the game.

Now that's tiring isn't ladies and gentlemen?

You can let the think tank off the hook if you wish.

Have you heard from them lately? What ideas are they bouncing around at the moment?

This is what our club has become

TIRED and stale and dishonest

Lions CEO to be sakced today
Quote:
LIONS CEO Malcolm Holmes will be sacked today and more upheaval is on the way with the AFL withdrawing its public support of Brisbane’s proposed relocation to Springfield.

The terms of Holmes’s departure will be finalised at a meeting this morning before an announcement is made.

Chairman Bob Sharpless’s position is also on shaky ground after the AFL last night were unable to confirm if it intended to re-sign the Heads of Agreement document with the Lions, Springfield Land Corp and Ipswich City Council that would give Sharpless another 12 months to secure the $15 million he needs to build the club’s proposed new training base.

Calls to Holmes and Sharpless last night were not returned.

Carlton CEO Greg Swann, AFLQ boss Michael Conlan and his predecessor Richard Griffiths, now at GWS, and former St Kilda CEO Michael Nettlefold are among the candidates to replace Holmes, who has been in the job for four years.

Here we go...

I am not sure what's going on? Was he that bad? Improved financial status of club.

Must be major conflict with board or new President. Be interested to know how well he supported and what direction and authority he was given.

Would of been a tough environment to work in over the past few years. :?

Swan maintained Hughes' tenure
Originally employed by Collo
Therefore Swan must go...

My question is who's decision was it?

Was it Sticks (who employed Ratten) or was it Gleeson as Director of Football or was it Swann?

Not easy to actually find out who did what.

He wanted a say in football department matters, and along with McKay, should take responsibility for handing out ridiculously unnecessary long term deals to fringe players that nobody else even wanted on numerous occasions.

Now that I agree with.

Personally, I think the lot should go starting with McKay, Kernahan and Gleeson. I just get the feeling that something more sinister is happening with Swann and he is a bit of a scapegoat for others incompetence.

Happy to see McKay given a go at it without Swann, Kernahan and Gleeson at the club for at least another year, but wouldn't shed too many tears if its considered a year too many.

Agreed Rhino.

I'm not a fan of the footy department's performance lately,
but there's a chance that McKay may have been hindered by poor organisational structure & too many cooks wanting to stir (& sh$t in) the pot.
