Same article that says Trainlr is leaving also says Gleeson considering not going on for another term as well. Great news. Considering he is the footy person on the board. Probably doing close to the most damage to us.

u can go back and see stupidity in what we were doing

i remember around 97 frazer brown was offered money to go to the lions.. and he was already finished up as a footballer.. and we paid him overs to keep him instead of letting him go and take the draft pick

he was washed up at this point .... but that didnt stop us with our "Crlton players never leave carlton " mantra

still happening (except eddie)

At least that's a start.
Doesnt sound like we're bending over for Gibbs either.

Overrated list. Eddie is not earning the money he is being paid. Had a great preseason.

Imagine if we had let Brown go in 97, who would have tackles Wallis in 99?

trainor was involved in a company with judd to sell clothes...

what football board experience and skills are we losing with his departure?

a) His business involvement with 'Jaggad' is spun out of his venture capital fund, Crosby & Prince Ventures.
He has bought and sold several companies including his vocational education business, Franklyn Scholar.
Ryan attends Aurelius Digital network’s invitation-only dinners with a host of wealthy venture capitalists and budding entrepreneurs.
He was the first Carlton board member to understand that 'space' which is vital when you have a CEO who doesn't.

b) I suspect you already know some of this.

c) His input and entrepreneurship will be missed - I suspect far greater by the Comms team than anyone else - but
if you have these people on the board, it's probably a good idea to listen to their ideas.

d) No one on the the current board or future boards will grant you your wish of seeing Carlton play home games at Princes Park.

d) I have no idea if Ryan will come back on via a challenge to the current board. He has a young family and serious business
interests that probably take precedent. I have serious doubts as to whether a ticket will eventuate. I think if anyone was going to do it -
then now would be the most opportune time, but I've lost a lot of faith in this football club...

e) ...having said that I'd love nothing more than for someone to book out Festival Hall one night and for both sides to state their case before
voting members.

Seriously? Gleeson considering not going on for another term? FFS. He should be kicked off with a few others. Board needs to be reduced significantly. The only "appointment" would be a top flight football director.

 Well the club hasn't raised the bar too high in recent times have they...Kernahan was no intellectual bright spark, Pratt didn't have a clue what was going on, Smorgon was a disaster from day one, Collo had a significant conflict of interest, Jack sent us broke...Ian Rice was pretty good...should we send Wes Lofts over to London to try and entice him back?

And your point is moot. He's leaving the board! What, pray tell, exactly are the qualifications you expect for President of the Carlton Football Club?

Guss has the weight covered but i believe he is under 6ft 3 inches.

Sounds risky to me Braithy

Rice and Elliott oversaw 4 flags in about 15 years plus 2 runner ups.

We definitely need a modern version of George Harris at the moment

There's no denying losing someone of Ryan Trainor's talents is a loss at board level. I'm not sure why you're anti-Trainor unless he fobbed you off at an AGM? As for Mark - I wasn't a great fan of his involvement post the Judd pokie deal. Thought it could have been handled better. He seems capable...perhaps competent. I'm pretty sure the club needs a whole lot more than that right now. He is no George Harris.

I can't imagine Trainor resigning and NOT forming a ticket.
